The elevator had already stopped on the 19th floor, but Bright Sampton and Jane Sampson did not leave the elevator.
A few seconds later, the elevator doors closed again.
Bright pressed the button for the 1st floor.
"Sister, let’s just go back ho," Bright finally began to regain the sense that had been stunned by the sudden text ssage, "Listening to your analysis, it indeed seems that sothing’s off at every turn."
Bright continued, "Having not seen your daughter for so long, and now when she’s within reach, wouldn’t she want to at least talk on the phone first? Since we have a phone number, why convey it through a middleman?"
When the elevator reached the first floor, Bright imdiately took Jane’s hand and left the hotel without a word, returning to the hotel they were staying in.
After closing the room door, Bright sat on the sofa, his deanor very serious.
"Sister, the more I thought about it on the way, the more wrong it seed. I’m sorry, sister, I was impulsive tonight," Bright said, sowhat reproachfully, slapping his own head.
"It’s alright, let’s just wait and see," Jane comforted Bright with a sentence, "Maybe it’s just overthinking it."
Jane didn’t bla Bright because he was still young, well-grown, and had always had smooth sailing. He was indeed well-protected by her and the Sampton family, hardly ever having to face the darker sides of society.
Bright was actually sowhat naive, and to add to that, the situation at first truly seed too good to be true, leaving him without a clear handle on it.
Before entering the elevator, Jane hadn’t thought about any of this either. She couldn’t deny that while she kept saying she didn’t want to go, deep down she really wanted to rush over there imdiately.
It was after she went out in the cold wind that she suddenly recalled Jas calling her naive, and when she cald down, Jane began to realize that there were logical inconsistencies everywhere in the matter.
"It’s very late, you should go back to your room to rest," Jane patted Bright, "You’ve been looking after all day inside the room, aren’t you tired?"
"No way," Bright shook his head repeatedly, "It would have been fine without this ss, but now that it’s happened, if I don’t keep you under my watchful eye, I won’t be able to sleep all night. I’ll just sleep on the sofa in your room tonight, anyway it’s big enough for ."
Having made up his mind, Bright imdiately lay down on the sofa, then said, "Although I may not have the sharpest mind, I am still a man. If sothing unexpected occurs, I can protect you if I’m next to you. I might not outsmart soone, but I have enough strength to hold my own against soone."
"This is an ultra five-star hotel, not so small inn without a security system," Jane said, holding her forehead, Bright seed to have been scared badly in reverse.
"News about incidents at five-star hotels isn’t rare, right? Anyway, I won’t be reassured," Bright sat up again, took so spare quilts and pillows from inside the wardrobe, and lay back on the sofa, "That’s that, it’s late, sister, you should go to sleep too."
Seeing that Bright couldn’t be persuaded, Jane shook her head helplessly and pushed him, "Even if you are sleeping here, you should go to brush your teeth before."
Bright saw that Jane agreed, and thus stopped making a fuss. He jumped up and muttered, "I also need to take a bath, luckily I ca directly here with my luggage today, saving myself another trip out."
Saying this, Bright grabbed his pajamas and headed to the bathroom. Halfway there, he turned his head back to look at Jane and said, "Sister, we must tell my brother-in-law about this when he’s back."
