Hearing Gary Black ask this question, Jane Sampson’s eyes lit up, "If I say what I want to eat, will you take there to eat?"
Jas Black was stunned for a second, then quickly changed his tune, "You better not say anything, put on your coat, and I’ll take you out. I’ll decide where we eat."
Jane Sampson pouted behind Jas Black; she knew it would turn out this way.
Although they left ho early, Jas Black took Jane Sampton to a spot so distant that she almost suspected he was taking her out of King Town.
Unexpectedly, the final stopping place was still within King Town’s boundaries but belonged to a small county town underneath it.
"Was it really necessary to go this far just for a al?" Jane Sampson muttered to Jas Black after getting out of the car, "We’ve actually run so far."
Jas Black glanced at Jane Sampson, knowing she was just being lazy because of the chilly weather and didn’t bother explaining further, leading her familiarly into an unremarkable small shop.
The term unremarkable only referred to the shop’s exterior, which resembled the roadside restaurants commonly seen in small towns. But once inside, Jane Sampson realized that describing this place as unremarkable was an understatent. Entering the shop was like stepping into another ancient and charming world, akin to stepping back in ti to the narrow streets of the southern city.
Even little rivers and stone bridges were inside the shop, with small boats moored in the river. The banks were lined with trees illuminated by night lights, indistinguishable as real or artificial at a glance.
Underneath the trees were seating areas.
Jas Black led Jane Sampson straight into a small boat in the river. Only after Jas pulled her in did Jane realize that the boat, which looked like those usually seen in the rivers of southern cities, was actually made of stone and other sturdy materials, not just wood.
"I didn’t expect such a place in this little county town." After sitting down, Jane Sampson couldn’t help but shift a bit and test if the boat on the river would wobble. However, the reality proved her wrong; as this was a restaurant, the boat was naturally stable.
"Outside is the dining hall, and these boats are private rooms," Jas Black said. "There are many places you don’t know about yet. I’ll take you to them one by one for you to gain more experience."
Jane Sampson propped her chin with her hands, a smile in her eyes, watching Jas Black. Was he implying that she was a bumpkin?
Regardless, Jane Sampson didn’t argue with Jas Black but curiously looked all around. As Jas Black held the nu and ordered, she stretched her forehead toward it. Since Jas Black was taller, naturally, her head was lower than his.
Jas Black first saw Jane Sampson’s small head and then could only see two-thirds of the nu blocked by her.
He silently curved his lips into a smile.
She really was getting wilder because of his indulgence.
anwhile, the little wild cat, unaware, blocked the sight of soone above her. Her pale little hand snatched the nu directly from Jas Black’s hand, flipping through it page by page, "This, this, this, and this— they all look delicious. Shall we order these?"
"Sure." In fact, Jas Black hadn’t seen what dishes Jane Sampson had picked, but as long as she liked them, he didn’t mind.
The restaurant was bustling with guests, and since the food was delicately made to order, the wait for their al was quite lengthy. When the food finally arrived, a ravenous Jane Sampson tore into it like a hungry wolf devouring its prey.
