Halfway there, Jas Black guessed that Jane Sampson might not be at ho, but he never expected that upon returning, he would see Jane Sampson’s suitcase packed and placed in the guest room.
In the bedroom, her stuff was almost completely gone.
Seeing the now-empty cloakroom, Jas Black’s mood was like being pierced through the heart with a thorn.
What does she an?
Having packed her things, was she afraid he would settle accounts with her when he returned, ready to flee ho?
Jas Black rubbed his temple, took out his mobile phone, and dialed Jane Sampson’s phone number.
In the private club, Jane Sampson was listening to Nina Rice’s bizarre comnts on the taste of hotpot restaurants in Capital Province and even those in the nearby large cities; her mobile phone suddenly rang. Jane glanced at the caller ID and was stunned.
"Didn’t expect it to happen so quickly," Jane couldn’t help but laugh at herself in self-mockery, then, under Nina’s slightly worried gaze, she answered the phone.
"Hello..." Jane had barely managed to say one word when the person on the other end ruthlessly cut her off.
"I don’t care where you are now, I want to see you in the house in one hour," Jas Black stated and imdiately hung up after dropping that sentence.
Nina looked at Jane holding the phone, lost in thought, and asked, "From the Black Residence? Or Brother Jas Black?"
"Jas Black’s," Jane picked up the docunts from the table, stood up, and said, "I can’t have lunch with you at noon, I’m heading back now, Nina, wish luck."
After Jane finished speaking, she took a deep sigh.
She had never been this terrified during the top competitions of the past, and now, she felt similar to Nina’s emotions during the College Entrance Exam.
"Good luck, treasure." Nina embraced Jane and then watched her leave with the docunts.
From the private club to her ho, who needs an hour?
In just 20 minutes, Jane Sampson arrived downstairs of her building. After spending a full ten minutes psyching herself up, she finally entered the elevator room and rode the elevator up.
The sound at the ho doorway caught Jas Black’s attention as he sat in front of the tea table, and he looked toward the doorway. After a mont’s noise, the figure of Jane Sampson appeared before him.
He sat there, watching Jane, head down as she changed her shoes, then walked in and stopped in front of him.
"You..." Jane’s finger tightly clasped the docunt envelope, her voice trembling as she looked at Jas Black’s somber expression and asked, "You know everything, don’t you?"
The answer to this question wasn’t hard to guess.
Jas Black’s gaze remained unflinching, his deanor detached, "How do you plan to explain?"
Jas Black unlocked his phone, displaying a page to Jane, "Is this what you call an artistic job? Jane Sampson, I really underestimated you before. Your talent for lying is unsurpassed."
Explain?
How to explain?
This was not a matter that had any room for explanations.
Jane gently pushed Jas Black’s phone back to him, then passed over the docunt envelope, which was now damp with the sweat from her palm, her voice gentle, "I think this is what you want right now."
"What?" Jas’s voice was cold and clear. He glanced at Jane, but still reached out to take it, then swiftly pulled out the contents.
Inside were only a few thin sheets of paper, the black text on white paper barely revealed before several bold characters suddenly leaped into his view. Divorce Agreent.
Jas Black’s fingertips gently touched these five characters. The next second, he let out a breath, closed the docunts, and threw them directly into the trash can at his feet in front of Jane Sampson.
