Jane Sampson then bent Jas Black’s arm and took a step forward, allowing the Great General to lead the way.
But to her surprise, the Great General headed straight out of the great courtyard, crossed a road, and went towards the small park opposite. Winding their way through, he led them to a corner of the park and then went into a cluster of bushes on his own. After a while, he ca out again.
However, when he ca out, he had a puppy in his mouth.
It was a newborn puppy that hadn’t even opened its eyes yet.
A short ti later, there were a few rustling sounds from behind the bushes, and another Golden Retriever ca out. This one seed a little weak and also had a newborn puppy in her mouth.
The Great General put the puppy he was carrying on Jane’s shoes and then gently nuzzled her foot with his head. He then bit at Jane’s sleeve, asking her to pet him.
Jane Sampson stood there in a daze for a quite a while before she ca back to her senses.
"These are the Great General’s children!" Jane exclaid with joy, bending down to pick up the puppy by her feet, delighted by the adorable little creature.
The other Golden Retriever was the mother hound, who, judging by her appearance, seed to be the mother of the Great General’s child.
Unlike the Great General, who wholly trusted and was affectionate towards Jane and Jas, the mother hound stayed close to the Great General but watched Jane warily, or rather, watched her hand.
"The Great General is indeed robust in his old age," Jane chattered, considering the Great General’s age in human years; he would be an elderly man by now.
Yet, the Great General had beco a father.
Jane rembered that before her rebirth, Peter Gingery had told her that one day the Great General brought back two dog sons from who knows where. The day after the Great General brought the dog sons ho, he brought back a dog daughter-in-law.
The incident was unusual, so Jane had made a special trip back to the Black Residence. But by the ti she learned about it, the Great General’s sons were already several months old, and Old Master Black had kept the Great General’s wife there. At that ti, when Jane saw the Great General’s wife, she didn’t look like the dog before her now.
It seed that this female dog was initially a stray and had changed after living at the Black Residence for several months.
"The Great General is really great!" Jane said with a cheery laugh, patting the Great General while noticing the mother hound’s attentive gaze, and then returned the puppy in her hand to the Great General.
"Heh." Jas Black scoffed at Jane praising the Great General and stood still without moving.
It was then that Jane turned to give Jas a look, "There’s sothing wrong with your tone."
"Jane, the Great General has beco a father," Jas said coolly.
Jane, squatting there, blinked her eyes, "Are you very envious?"
"So what if I am?" Jas asked back directly.
"You’re dying of envy, and there’s nothing I can do about it," Jane shrugged and turned her head to pet the head of the Great General again, "We’ll reward you with a pack of biscuits when we get back! The Great General is truly remarkable!"
The Great General’s dog face was filled with pride, and he barked a few tis, then turned to cuddle with the mother of his child by his side.
"Let’s go, Great General, take your kids, take your wife, and let’s go ho!" Jane patted the Great General’s head.
The Great General was smarter than the average Golden Retriever and, hearing Jane’s words, wagged his tail excitedly before bending down to pick up his son.
