Minister Carter is well aware that his daughter is not the type to casually call seniors just to check in, so he directly asked, "What did Jillian call you for?"
Chief Wilson chuckled, "Nothing much, she just asked to help her look up so information on an actress nad Jane Sampson. She seed particularly curious about Jane, maybe as a young girl idolizing a star, wanting to understand more about her idol, perhaps even hoping for a chance to et her."
At Chief Wilson’s level, he had long mastered the art of saying the right thing to the right person.
Seeing no change in Minister Carter’s expression, Chief Wilson cheerily said, "I rember your son Jas Carter is quite close to the actress Jane Sampson. Since Jas ended his last relationship, he hasn’t had a girlfriend for a long ti, right? Perhaps Jillian thought Jane might be her future sister-in-law, so she wanted to learn more about her."
In a few words, Chief Wilson’s speech exuded the kind of tolerance and affection a senior holds for the younger generation without considering Jillian’s request to look up soone in a negative light.
"She’s just being silly," Minister Carter smiled, "Jas and that girl are just good friends, they can’t be together. Don’t bother with her, little lass, loves making a fuss, with a new idea every day, don’t help her so you don’t set a precedent and then she bothers you, her beloved uncle, about every little thing in the future."
Minister Carter spoke indifferently for a while, then changed the subject.
But since then, his mood has been very bad.
He might not know other people’s daughters, but how could he not understand his own daughter?
How could Jillian Carter possibly have good intentions in investigating Jane Sampson?
After a brief tea and talking for half an hour, Chief Wilson excused himself on the pretext of having to attend to work and left.

Right now, let’s settle the matter of you asking Uncle Wilson to look up Jane Sampson." Having said this, Minister Carter could not hold back anymore and burst out, "Jillian, how did I end up raising a daughter who doesn’t know decency, propriety, or sha? Huh? Your morals, your principles, have they all gone to the dogs?"
