"A foster daughter who is not outstanding yet still thinks she can be like other people’s children?"
After Old Master Smith said those words, Julie Sampton suddenly interjected. The smile was still on her face, but the words that ca out were clearly filled with mockery.
"Julie Sampton!" Bright Sampton stood up furiously and glared at Julie Sampton. "If you don’t know how to talk, then shut up!"
"I am rely stating a fact. What, is it forbidden to speak the truth these days?" Julie Sampton replied with a sneer. "Indeed, Jane Sampson is our family’s foster daughter. Not even she knows who her birth parents are. Did I say anything wrong?"
Father Sampton tapped gently on the tabletop, his voice stern, "Julie Sampton, shut your mouth."
The Smith Family was shocked; they looked back and forth from Jane Sampson to Julie Sampton and finally turned their gaze toward Old Sir Sampton.
However, now that the words had been spoken and considering that the two families were to beco in-laws, and Julie Sampton chose this ti to reveal the matter herself, Old Sir Sampton also knew that it was impossible to keep it a secret any longer.
"Indeed, Jane is the foster daughter of our Sampton Family, but she has grown up in our house from a young age. Although she is a foster daughter, in our hearts, she is no different from her sister." Old Sir Sampton then explained for Julie Sampton. "The two sisters are close in age and often bicker. They probably just had an unpleasant argunt these past two days."
Old Sir Sampton cursed Julie Sampton in his heart. He had seen foolish people, but he had never seen soone as foolish as Julie Sampton.
Revealing Jane Sampson’s status in front of the Smith Family would not only cause Jane Sampson to lose face and be unable to step down, but would it also make things difficult for the other mbers of the Sampton Family?
Even for Julie Sampton herself, if the Smith Family decided to investigate, could the fact that Julie Sampton was only recognized after she beca sensible stay hidden?
A daughter who was recognized by the family only midway through her life, versus a daughter who grew up by her parents’ side since childhood, even if the sa person, would leave different impressions in the eyes of their future in-laws.
Upon saying this, Old Sir Sampton looked towards Old Master Smith again, saying, "My eldest granddaughter is already married, to Jas Black from the Black Family."
Jane Sampson glanced at Old Sir Sampton, and in the end, didn’t say a word, continuing to sit there as if she was an outsider listening.
"Grandpa~" Bright Sampton called out to Old Sir Sampton with so displeasure, but since Old Sir Sampton had already spoken, it was too late to stop him.
Old Master Smith nodded, "I thought I heard the na Jas Black just now and wondered if I had heard it wrong. A child from the Black Family, there’s no mistake. Being able to marry him, your eldest granddaughter must be good."
"I heard a few years ago that Jas Black got married, and our house even sent a wedding gift to their ho. We couldn’t make it to the wedding in person. I didn’t expect that the bride was your family’s daughter. Both children seem quite fine," Father Smith nodded and praised.
The Smith Family’s company had business dealings with the Black Family’s company, but not frequently, so when Jane Sampson and Jas Black got married, the Smith Family did not receive an invitation, but they did send a gift upon hearing about Jas Black’s marriage.
Though it was called an engagent, tonight’s dinner wasn’t exactly an engagent dinner, but rather a al for the two families to sit down, get to know each other, and discuss the official engagent date.
