She then muttered, "Why do you love to hold a walking stick and act impulsively just like Old Sir at our house?"
"Seems like I didn’t hit hard enough." Jas Carter responded faintly, then leaned on the table and got up.
"Mr. Carter, don’t bother with him anymore." Jane Sampson hastily walked over to stand by Jas Carter, genuinely worried he might not keep his balance, but she dared not directly support him.
"Mr. Carter, it’s cold, you might catch a cold with wet socks. Take them off and let them dry in the sunny part of the courtyard, there’s sun this afternoon, they will dry up, by the ti we leave they will be wearable. Besides, there’s heating in the studio and you’ll be in your slippers, it’s okay without socks." Jane Sampson quickly advised.
Jane Sampson knew that due to the condition of his leg, even though he exercises regularly, his body was still not like that of ordinary people.
"Yes, yes, yes, don’t just focus on hitting , first take off your socks and let them dry." Kendal Smith, standing a few steps away, nodded repeatedly, "Otherwise you’ll catch a cold now, it’ll really delay your singing practice. If you catch a cold here, it would be a real loss."
Only then did Jas Carter let Kendal Smith go, turned to Jane and said he’d step outside, then left the tea room.
After Jas Carter was out, Kendal Smith finally sat back down, thought for a while, and then confird with Jane, "You’re not going to ntion seeing here to your family, right?"
Without waiting for Jane to speak, Kendal Smith continued, "It’s not just that I don’t like Julie Sampton, she doesn’t like either. Isn’t Julie involved with Christopher Chip?"
"The marriage contract has been officially cancelled, what’s there to say? I ca here today to practice singing with Mr. Carter, didn’t et anyone else." Jane Sampson shrugged and spread her hands.
"Right on! Just for your chatting skills, you can use this studio anyti you want in the future, just let know ahead of ti, I’ll arrange it and won’t charge you a di," Kendal Smith said, figuring Jas Carter might return soon, so he quickly stood up, "I’ll go check if the equipnt is fixed, just sit and brew so tea with Mr. Carter, we’re all friends here, no need for formalities, I won’t see you out."
With that, Kendal Smith put on his leather shoes and ran out, so when Jas Carter walked back in barefoot, Kendal Smith had already disappeared.
"Where is he?" Jas Carter asked upon seeing only Jane remaining.
"He said he went to check if the equipnt is fixed, but I think Mr. Smith might be afraid that Mr. Carter you will hit him again when you return." Jane Sampson laughed, but her eyes were fixed on Jas Carter’s feet.
"Probably." Jas Carter chuckled softly, "I’ve known him from early days, we were all young and hot-tempered then, we beca friends through fighting. He got scared after I pinned him down and beat him up."
When Jas Carter finished talking and didn’t hear a response from Jane, but saw her still staring at his feet, he asked with slight amazent, "What’s wrong?"
Jane wasn’t the kind of impolite person in Jas Carter’s mory.
"Ah~ I just think it’s quite curious." Jane spoke, pulled both feet up from her seat, and without another word, took off her right sock, then dramatically lifted it towards Jas Carter’s feet, pointing to the inside of her own foot, "Mr. Carter, look!"
