Jane Sampson was genuinely infuriated by Rachel Miller’s request. After leaving the kitchen, she went straight to the courtyard to stand and let the cold wind blow, trying to calm the violent temper inside her.

"So infuriating private matters, better left unntioned," Jane Sampson waved her hand, "Have you all finished inside? Is the draw done?"
"All set," Nina nodded, "Jasmine Seven and Rachel Miller are in a group, Oscar Wilson and the one who struggled with naming are in a group, and I, quite coincidentally, am paired with Peter Gingery."
After listening to the entire discussion, Jane Sampson burst into laughter, "So Kane Forest is on his own in one group? Ha! Has President Forest ever set foot in a kitchen as well-grown as he is?"
Just as Jane Sampson finished speaking, Kane Forest’s voice suddenly ca from behind her.
"Yes." A single word, replied with firm assurance.
