What wonderful news this is—truly worth celebrating! If you ask , Jillian Carter should just stay in the countryside forever. ——Poor youth Oscar Wilson.

Jane Sampson couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Even through the mobile phone screen, she could feel Oscar Wilson’s schadenfreude.

But honestly, how could Jillian Carter stay in the countryside forever? No matter what, her grandparents were her own flesh and blood. Jane Sampson didn’t think spending ti with the elderly was such a tornting thing.

Even if they were stricter than most people, even if mobile phones weren’t allowed, it seed like a good opportunity to settle down, have so quiet ti, and nurture one’s mind and body.

Thanks for the aweso update, Comrade Oscar Wilson! ——Princess Egg-Yolk.

Jane Sampson replied to Oscar Wilson with a ssage, then set her mobile phone aside and turned her head to look at Jas Black, who was already beside her.

"What is it?" Jas Black noticed her gaze and reached out to pull the cup, which Jane had kicked aside, closer to cover the area below her chest.

Back in the day, Jas had thought she was so well-behaved in bed. But now, free of restraint, Jane could hardly keep still when she slept.

Of course, she wasn’t much better even before bedti.

"Just admiring you~" Jane squinted her eyes and flashed a gentle smile. "What’s the matter? Don’t like it? Do I need to pay?"

Joking around, Jane reached out and looped her arm around Jas’s waist as if she were a playful female rogue, stroking him once before leaning into his embrace, laughing gleefully all the way.

Her small hand slipped under Jas’s pajama bottom, teasingly brushing along his abdominal muscles. "Tsk tsk tsk. With this physique, I wouldn’t even know how much to pay to keep your waist from going to waste."

The next second, her forehead received a flick from Jas. Jane let out a protesting grunt and lifted her eyes to glare at him.

"Ti flies so quickly," she said with a hint of reluctance, withdrawing her hand from Jas’s waist and letting out a sigh. "I can’t believe the fourth day of the Lunar New Year is almost over."

Jane started counting on her fingers, ticking off one, two, three, four. "Four days have already gone by this year."

"Yeah," Jas replied softly, running his fingers through her delicate hair in a low voice.

"Four days—already gone." Jane repeated the sentence again, still sounding incredulous.

It seed that the fact those four days had vanished in a flash was sothing she couldn’t quite reconcile with.

After a third regretful sigh, Jane flopped back onto the bed, pulled up the quilt, and cocooned herself entirely inside it, radiating a touch of unhappiness.

Jas lay down beside her and gently wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Don’t be upset. Whether ti passes quickly or slowly, I’ll always be here."

Jas wasn’t the type to use flowery, romantic words, yet his comforting remark struck Jane deeply.

She nodded quietly in his arms and murmured softly, "Yeah, I have you."

And then, Jane laughed once more.

Perhaps Jas was the only one who truly understood what those four fleeting days ant to Jane.

He knew that Jane had always been waiting—waiting for sothing or soone to break into her calm life, to disrupt it just a little.

Ti rushed by like a galloping horse, swift to the point of impossibility to hold onto.

Before they knew it, the eighth day of the Lunar New Year arrived. Finally, Jas had the ti. Early in the morning, he dragged Jane out from beneath the quilt.

Rubbing her eyes, Jane grumbled under her breath, complaining about Jas waking her up so early for no reason. Then, at his urging, she reluctantly went to wash up and have breakfast.

Jane had assud that once they left the guard team, Jas would drive straight back to the Black Residence. After all, since the start of the New Year, neither of them had yet managed to return for a visit.
