Seeing this, Jane Sampson couldn’t help but chuckle coldly in her heart.
The only modification in the entire script was to add more scenes for the female supporting role.
The added scenes for the female supporting role were almost done wherever there was an opportunity. Anywhere the female lead appeared, it seed the supporting role was given two extra lines.
After flipping through the script, Jane Sampson felt deeply unhappy.
Thinking it over, Jane called Fiery Fanny.
"Hello?" Fiery Fanny was attending a literary seminar outside the region when she saw the call from Jane Sampson and picked it up, "Little Jane, what’s up?"
"Fiery Fanny, did you write the new script?" Jane Sampson asked directly, "I just got the new script and went through it. Hasn’t the supporting role been given too much? Wherever the female lead has scenes, the supporting role’s scenes were added too. By the end of the script, the supporting role’s scenes have surpassed the female lead, so I want to ask, in the new script, am I playing the fox fairy as the female lead, or is that supporting role actually the lead?"
"What new script?" Fiery Fanny looked puzzled, "I didn’t write a new script. I’ve been busy with the new book’s publicity these days, so busy that I haven’t had ti to write a new script."
Fiery Fanny gestured to the person next to her and went to the corner to make the call to Jane Sampson.
"You say scenes for the supporting role were added wherever the female lead had scenes? And what’s with the new script? I haven’t received any notice." Fiery Fanny said, "Can you conveniently take so photos of the new script and show it to now?"
"Sure." Jane Sampson agreed and then hung up.
When Jane Sampson initially took on this drama, it was because she was the female lead.
But the new script in her hand had forcefully pushed the female lead into a supporting role.
Was the director trying to promote the supporting role, or was he deliberately trying to embarrass her as the female lead by giving her this script?
If the drama was really perford according to this new script, once the TV series aired, Jane Sampson, as the female lead, would only be ridiculed by the audience, with her scenes squeezed out to be less than those of the supporting role, turning her into a re prop for the supporting role.
Such a drama, Jane Sampson did not want to act in.
She didn’t want to be anyone’s stepping stone.
Nor did she want to be in a crappy drama where even the core of the script had been altered.
Fiery Fanny asked for a few pages, but Jane Sampson directly sent the entire script to her.
Over there, after receiving the photos, Fiery Fanny swore furiously in the corner of the seminar.
She called Jane Sampson back to explain, "Little Jane, I didn’t write this script, and I wasn’t inford. I would never allow my script to be altered to such a completely unrecognizable extent! This script differs from my original work by a mile! I absolutely refuse to let my work be ruined like this by capitalists!"
Fiery Fanny was equally stubborn, "Instead of letting my work be ruined, I would rather it not be adapted into a TV series at all!"
"I also sent the new script to my agent to review, and she’ll get back to later," Jane Sampson said, "I don’t want to act in such a script either."
"Alright, Little Jane, I’ll call the director now." Fiery Fanny hastily hung up.
One minute later, Jane Sampson also received a call from Rock Bell.
"Jane, I have read through the new script you sent . You and Lucy co back directly. The studio will handle this for you. If the film crew insists on using the new script, then we won’t take part in this drama. After that, the studio will have lawyers handle the termination of contracts." Rock Bell said.
