She laughed, "So even though I felt a bit tired, I never thought about asking you for help. Back then, I was really just praying that you’d show up on the wedding day, and it’d be best if you went back to the guard team the next day after the wedding."
As she said this, Jane Sampson’s laughter gradually grew louder, and she looked quite smug.
"If we were like this before the marriage," Jane Sampson mischievously raised her eyebrows, "you’d be dood."
Jas Black let out a low hum, silently watching Jane Sampson, with a softness in his eyes.
His palm rested on the top of her head, gently ruffling her hair occasionally. She didn’t speak further, just humd an off-key tune and pressed her face against his chest, clearly in a good mood.
After a while, she suddenly raised her head, poked his chest with her finger, and muttered, "Your heartbeat, so noisy."
"..." Jas Black pinched her cheek. "Want to take a nap together?"
Jane Sampson nodded, finally getting up from Jas Black, quickly shedding her coat and diving into the quilt, flipping open the edge of the quilt, and waving her little hand like holding a small kerchief, grinning at Jas Black, squeaking, "Sir~ Co on~"
"..." The corner of Jas Black’s mouth twitched imperceptibly; when it cos to drama, no one could outdo Jane Sampson.
Jas Black lay down, pulling Jane Sampson into his arms, his voice deep, "Flirt again, and face the consequences yourself!"
"Eek, you anie~."
Jas Black: "..."
"Behave yourself!" Jas Black slapped Jane Sampson’s backside.
Only then did Jane Sampson hum, pushing Jas Black away and turning around, showing him the back of her head, and kicked Jas Black discontentedly.
Jas Black didn’t pull her back, just stared at the back of her head.
Jane Sampson’s courage, right now, was probably the greatest in the world.
She could already swagger with pride in front of him.
Jas Black didn’t speak, and neither did Jane Sampson, and the room finally quieted down.
After waiting for three minutes, Jas Black, thinking she had already fallen asleep, still didn’t see Jane Sampson move.
Unexpectedly, outside the window, a sudden thunderclap without warning.
A loud rumble echoed through the entire hearing.
The next second, the person Jas Black thought was asleep turned over, and in the blink of an eye rolled into his arms, her hand fiercely digging under his waist until both hands held onto his waist.
"Oh my God, a thunderstorm, so scary, I’m so scared~" she said, trembling lightly in his arms.
Jas Black was speechless.
She always had a way to create a perfect excuse for herself.
Afraid of thunder?
Jas Black still rembers when Jane Sampson was five years old; who knows which TV show she watched, claiming that being struck by lightning would turn you into a superman.
One sumr weekend afternoon, she and Peter Gingery were watching an animated film in the Black Family living room. A sumr thunderstorm arrived as suddenly, and a monstrous clap of thunder startled Peter Gingery.
anwhile, from the balcony of the room on the second floor, Jas Black saw a little lass with a ponytail charging out of the courtyard, running wildly outside, shouting, "Thunder! Thunder! Strike ! Strike ! I’m here! I want to be Superman!"
Uncle Black happened to return from outside, utterly shocked, chasing Jane Sampson with an umbrella, and it took him several minutes to catch up with the little girl. He finally carried the silly girl, wanting to chase lightning and soaked through, back into the house.
