"Young Master, the old lady is gone."
On the phone, Aunt Nanny said with a sobbing voice.
"After lunch, the old lady went for a walk. She didn’t rest until past two o’clock. Just now, I saw that the old lady hadn’t gotten up, so I went to call her, but no matter how much I called, there was no response. I imdiately dialed 120. After the doctor ca, he said the old lady had no heartbeat."
"The doctor said, based on the body temperature asurent, he estimated the old lady had passed away for about two hours."
"The doctor said the old lady’s eyebrows were peaceful, and she passed away in her sleep without any illness or pain."
"Young Master, actually, the old lady has been murmuring these past two days, saying she saw Old Sir and that he was waiting for her."
"The old lady said she couldn’t make Old Sir wait too long, because if he gets impatient, she won’t be able to catch up with him."
As the nanny continued, she almost broke down in tears.
"When the old lady went for a walk at noon, she said she saw how outstanding you are, Young Master. She had nothing more to worry about now."
Bright Sampson’s tears suddenly welled up, "I understand. Jane and I will return imdiately."
Bright Sampson held his mobile phone, sitting there for a long ti without moving. Only after his emotions cald did he slowly turn his head toward Jane Sampson, who was sitting dazedly in the rear seat, looking at him.
The car was very quiet, and Jane Sampson should have heard what the nanny said just now.
"Sister, Grandma is gone. Let’s go to the countryside to see her off," Bright Sampson said softly.
"I’ll go back with you too, to see off Granny Sampton," Leah Webster gently patted Jane Sampson’s back of the hand, "My condolences to you both."
Jane Sampson remained motionless for a long ti, and only then did Bright Sampson start the car and head towards the countryside.
He didn’t dare to drive too fast along the way, fearing he wouldn’t be able to control the speed due to his unstable emotions. Two hours later, the car finally stopped in the courtyard.
And Father Sampton’s family hadn’t arrived yet.
The nanny was keeping vigil inside Granny Sampton’s room, and suddenly the large house felt terrifyingly quiet.
"Young Master, miss, you’re here." It was only when Jane Sampson and Bright Sampson pushed the door open and walked in that the nanny ca out.
"Have you notified my dad and them?" Bright Sampson asked.
"Yes, I’ve notified them. They should be arriving soon as well." The nanny nodded.
"You go downstairs and prepare. Sister and I will accompany Grandma." Bright Sampson spoke with a trembling voice.
And Jane Sampson, after entering the room, walked step by step to the bedside.
Looking at the elderly woman lying in bed with a peaceful expression, Jane Sampson, who had held back her tears all the way, finally let them fall.
"Grandma, it’s , Jane~ I’ve co back to accompany you, it’s ti for you to wake up." Jane Sampson squatted beside the bed, lowered her head, gently holding Granny Sampton’s hand, pressing her face against her grandmother’s unusually cold hand.
These hands, clearly just a few days ago, were making her delicious food and holding hers, how did they beco so cold?
"Grandma, please don’t sleep, okay? I already don’t have Grandpa anymore, and if you leave too, I truly have no ho." Her tears fell on the elderly woman’s heavily wrinkled back of the hand, one drop after another.
The scalding temperature was in stark contrast to the elderly woman’s hand temperature.
"Grandma, I beg you, please wake up, will you? Wake up, will you?" She cautiously, gently pushed the palm beneath her cheek, "Grandma, don’t sleep, it’s very late, it’s ti to eat dinner, if you don’t eat, your stomach will hurt."
