Jane Sampson struggled to lift her seemingly heavy head and drank half a cup of water in one gulp.
"Do you want to drink more?" Jas Black asked, holding the empty cup.
Jane Sampson shook her head, "Help up, I want to sit up."
Jas Black responded with a sound, supporting her waist, and pulling her hand to help her sit upright.
"Am I at the hospital?" Jane Sampson looked around and glanced outside the window, "Is the sun setting?"
"No, it’s almost daybreak." Jas Black pulled Jane Sampson into his arms, "You’ve made worry for a whole day and night."
Jane Sampson was suspicious that Jas Black might be scamming her.
She just had a fever, how could she have been asleep for a whole day and night?
But thinking about it, she had indeed slept for a whole day and night, for so long, no wonder she didn’t even have the strength to sit up just now.
"Did you keep watch over the whole night, without closing your eyes?" Jane Sampson gently patted Jas Black’s back, "I’m hungry, I want to eat sothing."
"The nurse cooked porridge for you, it’s been kept warm, I’ll go get it." Jas Black finally let go of Jane Sampson and got a pillow for her to lean against.
Jane Sampson nodded, then sat there watching him go out.
She actually slept for a whole day and night.
So today is Grandma’s burial day.
Jas Black went very quickly, as if he ran, and ca back holding a thermal insulation bucket.
"It’s sweet potato porridge, I added so white sugar, so it’s sweet porridge." Jas Black sat next to Jane Sampson, "I’ll feed you."
"Did you have a proper al yesterday?" Jane Sampson reached out to touch Jas Black’s chin, "Your stubble is starting to prick."
With her like this, how could Jas Black possibly eat his al?
Jas Black said nothing, but brought a spoonful of porridge to Jane Sampson’s lips.
Jane Sampson’s mouth tasted bitter, until she ate the porridge, she could feel a little sweetness, she said to Jas Black, "The nurse is so considerate."
Knowing she had a bitter mouth, they cooked sweet porridge for her.
"Yes." Jas Black nodded without denying, the nurses here are indeed very good.
"After als, take back, Grandma is leaving, I need to see her off." Jane Sampson said looking eagerly at Jas Black.
"You’re still having a fever." Jas Black’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, but looking at Jane Sampson’s expression, he finally nodded.
Having slept for a day, Jane Sampson’s appetite wasn’t very good, she ate just a little bit and couldn’t eat more, Jas Black finished the rest of her al without fearing being infected by her.
After Jane Sampson took the dicine, Jas Black went to the doctor’s office and said a sentence, ended with the doctor if the fever hasn’t gone down imdiately go back to the hospital later, then Jas Black left the hospital holding Jane Sampson who still emitted an unusual heat.
When the two returned to the countryside, it was already daybreak, Bright Sampton and Father Sampton and Mother Sampton were preparing with the relatives to send Granny Sampton’s remains to be cremated, seeing Jane Sampson and Jas Black co over, one by one naturally turned their eyes to Jane Sampson.
"Sister." Bright Sampton looking at Jane Sampson’s situation said, "Have you recovered?"
"There’s still a bit of fever, but better than yesterday." Jane Sampson said honestly.
"Why are you here if you’re still sick? Grandma would surely want to scold you for not taking care of yourself." Bright Sampton said.
"After sending off Grandma, I’ll obediently go back to the hospital if I’m still feverish." Jane Sampson said, "Don’t talk about now, let’s go, we need to send off Grandma."
Bright Sampton looked at Jas Black, seeing Jas Black’s nod, he didn’t say anything more.
