Jane Sampson sat in place with her mobile phone, furrowing her eyebrows as she pondered for a long ti. She felt that there was sothing that couldn’t quite be sorted out in this matter.
She thought for half a day but still couldn’t figure it out, so she shook her head, cleared her thoughts, and sat dazedly for a while. Later, she got up and left the bedroom to find Jas Black.
No one in the living room, naturally in the study.
The door to the study was open. Jane Sampson stood in the doorway, poking half her head into the doorway to look inside. Seeing Jas Black was writing sothing with his head down, she promptly withdrew her head and softly returned to the living room to sit and wait for Jas Black to be done. In the anti, she continued with her script.
The movie script had changed significantly compared to the TV drama script. Although the general plot direction hadn’t changed, the character dialogues and scenes were quite different. Hence, Jane Sampson had to morize a new script.
Still, with a mind preoccupied, Jane Sampson lost focus after rehearsing for a while.
Every now and then, while reciting the script, her gaze uncontrollably drifted towards the study.
Then, not even half an hour passed before she couldn’t sit still. She got up again and quietly crept to the study doorway, leaning against the wall, and poked half her head in to glance inside. Seeing Jas Black still busy, she discreetly returned to her spot to continue with the script.
Although Jane Sampson thought her actions were light and cautious, Jas Black in the study had noticed the first ti she did it.
He sat there, not staring directly at the doorway, but knew that roughly forty-sothing minutes to less than an hour later, Jane Sampson’s half-faced would quietly appear at the doorway. Her eyes would gaze at him for a mont before she silently withdrew and left.
It was because Jas Black indeed had urgent tasks in the evening, so he didn’t call her in.
However, Jane Sampson’s sneaky behavior only lasted until after ten o’clock before ending. She returned to the bedroom to rest.
When Jas Black prepared to rest and glanced up, it was almost twelve o’clock. He tidied up the table docunts and returned to the bedroom.
The internet addict girl who usually played gas until he urged her to sleep was unusually well-behaved today, consciously going to bed early to rest. Jas Black entered the room to find Jane Sampson already asleep.
She was genuinely asleep, not pretending.
She held his pillow like a doll, her whole face flushed with sleep, the quilt covering below her nose. Compared to her regular habit of burrowing entirely into the quilt, today was much better.
Jas Black looked at the big pillow she was holding and helplessly curved his lips into a smile. He gently pulled the pillow from her arms, lifted the quilt, lay down, and held her close.
Only then did Jane Sampson drowsily open her eyes, both hands fumbling around until her gaze landed on the pillow beneath his head. She puffed her cheeks with so dissatisfaction but didn’t attempt to grab it. Instead, she wrapped her limbs around Jas Black, using him as a substitute for her pillow.
"Did I wake you?" Jas Black asked softly.
"Mm." She responded softly, her voice still in a state of quickly falling asleep again. She burrowed beneath Jas Black’s armpit, unsure of what she was digging for, eventually getting frustrated and grumbling in dissatisfaction.
Jas Black couldn’t help but laugh, reaching out to cradle the back of her head with one hand and sliding the other beneath her nape. He gently laid her head down, so she could comfortably rest against his shoulder. He bent his arm and lightly brushed his fingertips against the strands of her hair near her ear.
