"Cheapskate!" Jane Sampson stood there rolling her eyes. After Jas Black went into the kitchen, she reached directly into Jas Black’s coat pocket.
Sure enough, she found an entire box remaining. Jane Sampson took it out triumphantly and ran to the kitchen door to shout at Jas Black, "Look!"
Then she teasingly shook the stuff in her hand at Jas Black, "I found it, which ans it’s mine now."
After saying that, she ran off again, as if afraid Jas Black would grab it back.
Jas Black stood inside the kitchen and chuckled softly, as if he could hear from the living room the sound of Jane Sampson munching on seaweed.
Jas Black could even imagine Jane Sampson squinting her eyes, sitting on the living room sofa, nibbling little bites of seaweed like a little hamster.
Jas Black thought, his young wife was truly fun to tease.
After dinner, Jas Black was busy in the study, and Jane sat opposite him with the script.
Halfway through, she suddenly rembered sothing, looked up at Jas Black, and asked, "I haven’t seen Peter Gingery since this morning at the dining hall. I cooked lunch myself, and he didn’t co to mooch a al. Did he go out for tasks and isn’t with the guard team?"
Jas Black stopped the pen in his hand, looked up at Jane Sampson, and nodded, "Yes."
While speaking, the corner of his mouth had a hint of a smile.
This expression on Jas Black’s face made Jane Sampson glance at him a few more tis, then she pressed her voice, speaking softly, "Could it be such a coincidence that he’s gone to rescue David Chip?"
Otherwise, why would Jas Black reveal an expression that’s hard to describe yet enjoying watching a drama unfold?
"Yes." This wasn’t considered a classified matter, so Jas Black didn’t hide it from Jane Sampson, "The Chip Family received a videotape this morning. On it, David Chip was beaten all over, and the kidnappers were dissatisfied with the Chip Family’s slow speed in raising money, thus using this thod to hasten them. The Chip Family didn’t dare to call the police and didn’t quite trust the police’s abilities, so they sought help from connections, reaching out to the guard team."
"After a day, still not back yet, could it be that the person hasn’t been rescued?" Jane Sampson was a bit worried about these things, "The kidnappers are ruthless, demanding 800 million right off the bat, are they fierce? Peter Gingery and the team should be okay, right?"
"Before I ca back, Peter Gingery had already called . The rescue was over, and they’re on their way back now. Calculating the ti, they should return to the guard team in another one or two hours." Jas Black glanced at the watch on his wrist as he spoke.
Since Jane Sampson gave him a watch, Jas Black hadn’t worn any other watch.
Without waiting for Jane Sampson to inquire, Jas Black continued, "Peter Gingery and the others will return the sa way they ca, everything’s fine, just two people sustained so knife injuries, all minor."
Jane Sampson exhaled in relief, "That’s good, that’s good."
Thinking about Peter Gingery facing those vicious kidnappers genuinely made Jane Sampson unable not to worry.
Knowing that Peter Gingery was coming back, Jane Sampson decided not to study the script further and asked, "Can he take calls now? Can you ask him how much longer it will take to return? Let him co here when he gets back; I’ll cook him so food. I wonder if he’s had dinner, busy until now."
"They’ll handle it themselves. You sit and stay in the study; no need to go anywhere." Jas Black raised his hand and tapped the table, "He’s grown, he won’t starve."
