Hearing Jane Sampson say this, Old Master Carter’s expression changed.

Jas Carter had previously told her that regardless of the matters between her and Jillian Carter, his mom and father still very much liked her, so when she heard Jane was coming, Gwendolyn Young imdiately called to invite Jane Sampson to the house as a guest.
In the Carter Family’s house rules, there was no rule about not talking during als, so during eating, everyone would chat, talk about work, and talk about family.
Because Jane Sampson was Old Master Black’s granddaughter-in-law, both Old Master Carter and Old Madam Carter felt a bit more fond of Jane Sampson.
They all ca out of the great courtyard, and in terms of topics and habits, there were almost no major differences, so everyone got along very happily.
After eating, Gwendolyn Young even brought Jane Sampson to her piano room, and the five of them continued singing the team song they hadn’t finished that afternoon in Gwendolyn Young’s piano room.

Jane Sampson originally wanted to decline, but seeing that Jas Carter had already picked up his cane and agreed, she didn’t express her refusal.
"Then I’ll trouble Mr. Carter." Jane Sampson waved to the three elders inside, "Grandpa Carter, Grandma Carter, Teacher Yang, I’ll leave now. Goodbye."
Old Master Carter and Old Madam Carter stood there, watching Jas Carter and Jane Sampson get in the car and leave, before going back to the room. Gwendolyn Young followed them with a happy mood and said to the two elders with a smile, "Ever since Jas returned to the country and t Jane Sampson, he’s been in much better spirits."
"I can see that," Old Madam Carter replied, "When Jas is with her, he seems very relaxed. Jane Sampson doesn’t treat Jas as if he were soone with inconveniences but regards him as a normal man."
This small detail was sothing Old Madam Carter noticed right away.
