Jas Black murmured a response, turned his head, and his gaze landed on Jane Sampson’s bare feet on the floor, his eyebrows furrowed, "Go put your shoes on."
"No way~ It’s so hot~" Jane Sampson shook her head, and before Jas Black could say anything else, she swiftly turned around and ran off, laughing and teasing as she went, defying Jas Black’s nerves with her laughter.
A few minutes later, Jane Sampson had a large bowl of tomato beef noodles in front of her. She took the chopsticks from Jas Black’s hand and imdiately ate a piece of beef, her face full of satisfaction, "The food in the southland and Northland is really quite different; even the beef is not quite the sa."
Having said that, Jane Sampson looked up and asked Jas Black, who sat across from her eating his noodles, "Tomorrow is Saturday. You’re not going back to the guard team, right?"
"I am," Jas Black replied in a deep voice, "The guard team still has business, Sunday is a day off. When did you book your flight ticket to return?"
"Monday morning at 11 o’clock, so I can sleep until I wake up naturally and then head to the airport, and once there, I’ll have plenty of ti to rest well before starting to get busy the next day." Jane Sampson felt a bit disappointed knowing Jas Black had to return to the guard team early tomorrow.
She originally planned to invite Jas Black to join her for tomorrow night’s event.
However, knowing Jas Black would not be free, Jane Sampson dropped the subject.
"A few days ago, Old Sir Carter and Old Madam Carter ca to the Capital Province and visited the Black Residence to see grandfather." Jas Black was aware of Jane Sampson’s unhappiness but didn’t ask further; instead, he brought up other topics to divert her attention.
"Really?"
Sure enough, when Jane Sampson heard this, her face imdiately showed a look of surprise, followed by curiosity, "Was grandfather particularly happy?"
"Yes, they were old teammates. Later, Old Sir Carter was transferred to the southland. At that ti, communications were not developed, and gradually the contact was lost. They hadn’t t for several decades." Jas Black explained, "Last night, I returned to the Black Residence and had dinner with them; Old Sir Carter and Old Madam Carter praised you in front of grandfather."
"They praised ~" Jane Sampson’s eyes lit up; she didn’t even ask what they praised her for, just imdiately felt a bit bashful, grinning sheepishly at Jas Black.
Clearly, being praised made Jane Sampson a little shy, but she was happy inside.
She liked receiving complints and being affird by others.
It was a habit she had developed since childhood.
Jas Black nodded approvingly.
Because of this topic, Jane Sampson’s initial gloom dissipated quickly. Although she insisted on having a late-night snack, she didn’t eat much. Once full, she poured the remaining one-third directly into Jas Black’s bowl.
Seeing him look at her with an indulgent gaze, Jane Sampson returned a brilliant smile.
The bowl was taken back to the drama by Jas Black, while Jane Sampson followed him around like a little sidekick.
He bent over the sink washing dishes, and she was like a koala, clinging onto his back from behind.
She was a girl full of daintiness. Jas Black truly couldn’t do anything about her and didn’t rush her back to the bedroom to wait as washing two bowls took less than one minute.
After washing, he flicked the water off his hands, grabbed a paper from next to him to dry off, and supported Jane Sampson’s arm to turn around, directly carrying Jane Sampson in a princess-style hold into the bedroom.
