Peter Gingery felt defeated after seeing Julie Sampton put on that ’don’t bully ’ pitiable expression again.
"Enough, go back to where you ca from and don’t stand here spoiling the view," said Peter Gingery, leaning on the door and waving at Julie Sampton, "Miss. Sampton, have a nice day, I’m not seeing you off."
Julie Sampton moved, but not to leave.
She had co all this way, and although reason told her she shouldn’t complain in front of Peter Gingery or so many people, doing nothing left her feeling extrely unwilling.
"May I ask for Chief Black’s mobile number?" Julie Sampton asked, biting her lips as she turned to the on-duty team mber next to her. When she had arrived, these team mbers had been quite nice to her, moving chairs and bringing her soda.
Getting Jas Black’s number would be ideal; that way, she could avoid the dread of seeing Jas Black and still make her complaint.
She herself didn’t like Jas Black and feared him; however, now that she saw Jane Sampson relying on the status of Mrs. Black, with her father repeatedly yielding to her, Julie Sampton could not bear to see Jane Sampson continue to hold the position of Mrs. Black.
The wife of Jas Black could be anyone, but that anyone absolutely could not be Jane Sampson.
"I’m sorry, madam, but we have rules, and we can’t do that," replied the young on-duty team mber, very seriously and straight-laced.
Everyone originally thought she was the sister-in-law, hence they treated her very warmly, but looking at it now, not only was she not the sister-in-law, she was soone whom Chief Black disliked, and whom Brother Peter also disliked.
"Julie Sampton, are you seriously trying to amuse ?" Peter Gingery almost laughed himself into a fit with Julie Sampton’s query.
Was this woman stupid?
Jas Black was the Chief; who would dare to casually give out the Chief’s phone number to a woman they didn’t recognize?
Especially given Jas Black’s clear expression of dislike towards her.
Peter Gingery felt that if he stayed there watching a fool go mad, he might get infected too, so he left without paying any more attention to Julie Sampton, who was glaring at him at the doorway.
When Jas Black returned to his office, he was in a state of vague anger.
Just now, when he left the office, he truly thought it had been Jane Sampson, and at that ti, Jas Black admitted, he wanted to see Jane Sampson.
Jas Black picked up his mobile phone, planning to leave the office and jog a few laps on the practice field to clear the anger in his heart. As for why he was taking his phone along for a jog, even he couldn’t find a reason, but he took it anyway.
As he left the office building, he saw Peter Gingery coming towards him while making a call. Jas Black stopped in his tracks, subconsciously listening in a mont longer.
Not surprisingly at all, Peter Gingery was on the phone with Jane Sampson.
He walked along, talking and laughing on his phone, his whole deanor bright as a blooming sunflower, completely oblivious to Jas Black standing ahead, having no idea what kind of grand joke Jane Sampson was sharing on the other end that had him so delighted.
What kind of joke could Jane Sampson possibly tell?
This question remained unanswered in Jas Black’s mind, even after he had run several laps alone. Several kiloters later, Jas Black, drenched in sweat, sat down on the steps, tapping his mobile phone.
After so thought, he finally made the call he had been holding off for a long ti.
Jane Sampson’s mobile phone rang while she was listening to Daniel Taylor explaining drama to the female lead, Olivia Chip; the sudden ringtone disrupted the conversation, making Daniel Taylor furrow his brows and glance at Jane Sampson, "You’ve had quite a lot of calls this afternoon."
