This ti, without Daniel Taylor saying anything, Jane Sampson herself thought she got too many phone calls today.
She pulled out her phone to look, and lo and behold, it was Jas Black again.
Jane Sampson rolled her eyes with her mobile phone in hand, then stepped out of the crowd to answer the call.
"Hello," Jane Sampson tried to sound less annoyed. Of course, in reality, she was quite impatient. Since when had Jas Black been so bored as to call her several tis a day?
Jas Black, probably hearing the noise on her end, was the first to speak up, "What are you doing?"
"Eating roasted..." As the word was about to leave her lips, Jane Sampson looked down at the chicken wing in her hand and then glanced at Daniel Taylor’s roasted sweet potatoes, and she nonchalantly corrected herself, "Roasted sweet potatoes."
Perhaps afraid that Jas Black wouldn’t believe her, she added, "So sweet and soft."
The roasted sweet potato in Daniel Taylor’s hand did indeed look very sweet and soft.
Jas Black hmm’ed, uncertain whether Jane Sampson was lying or not.
He stood by the bed in the bedroom, turned his head to look at the rabbit Kris plush almost as tall as him on the bed, and asked, "What’s with the ugly rabbit on the bed?"
Jas Black rembered that before he last returned to the guard team, there hadn’t been this ugly rabbit in the house, so it must have been Jane Sampson who bought it after he went back to the guard team.
"Ugly rabbit?" Jane Sampson almost dropped the at she was about to eat, "You don’t find it cute? You actually call it an ugly rabbit?"
When Jane Sampson first laid eyes on this rabbit, she found it absolutely adorable, not only because it looked good but also because it had long legs.
"Let’s not discuss whether it’s cute or not for now, why did you put this rabbit on the bed?" And right where she slept, no less, even covering the darn rabbit with a quilt.
When Jas Black returned ho and entered the bedroom, he saw the bed bulging, thinking Jane Sampson must have been at ho scamming him about being out of town.
Right before lifting the quilt, his heart was set on correcting Jane Sampson’s tendency to lie, but upon uncovering the bed and finding such an ugly rabbit, Jas Black felt, in retrospect, that he would much rather Jane Sampson had the flaw of lying—it was actually more pleasing to him.
"I specially ordered it online before I left," Jane Sampson explained seriously, "I don’t know what habit you picked up recently, but you always need to hold onto sothing when you sleep, so I bought you a plush doll. From now on, you can hold it while you sleep."
After saying this, Jane Sampson suddenly realized sothing, "Eh, you ca ho?"
So Jas Black ca ho alone when she wasn’t there.
Upon hearing this, Jas Black, with one hand on his mobile phone and holding the ear of rabbit Kris with the other, directly tossed rabbit Kris onto the bed in the guest room, with a noticeable grinding of teeth, "I threw it away."
