And at this mont, the patriarch Jas Black stood in the guest room, engaging in a staring match with the incredibly ugly rabbit in his eyes. Thinking of Jane Sampson’s affection for this hideous rabbit, Jas ultimately grabbed it by the ears and dragged Rabbit Kris all the way back to the master bedroom, tossing it onto the bed.
Rabbit Kris’s long legs accounted for half its height, and it had long ears as well. When Jas carelessly flung it onto the bed, Kris’s legs were basically folded over.
"Ugly."
Jas stood beside the bed, contemplating for a long ti, but still arrived at the conclusion—he just couldn’t find the charm in this ugly rabbit that Jane saw.
Lying in bed, Jas opened the quilt and stuffed the ugly rabbit under it, then casually covered it up, entirely concealing its face just like Jane would do when she slept.
As soon as the light by the bed was turned off, the room was plunged into darkness. He lay in his spot, eyes open, and after a mont’s thought, he reached out and pulled the rabbit next to him, holding it in his arms.
The rabbit’s sole purpose was to substitute for Jane and be held by him.
However...
After just a few seconds, Jas, feeling slightly irritated, kicked Rabbit Kris from his embrace to under the bed.
An ugly rabbit is just an ugly rabbit—its feel was utterly different from that of Jane.
Jas took his mobile phone from the bedhead cabinet, glanced at Jane’s photo on the lock screen, opened the text ssage app, and sent her a ssage.
—A week has passed this month. I want to see you within the next three weeks at the latest.
Jane had just finished her late-night snack and was walking back to the hotel with a group of people from the night market. The hotel was less than ten minutes away from the night market, so everyone chose to walk back to aid digestion.
Hearing the notification sound of a new text ssage, Jane thought it was probably spam, but out of boredom, she took out her mobile phone for a glance. Seeing that it was from Jas, she opened the ssage and nearly stumbled into the ditch next to her.
!!!
Is this guy out of his mind?
Quibbling over a week’s ti! He’s going to cause so unnecessary misunderstandings! Like, for instance, might he have fallen for her and feels that a day without her is like a year apart?
But the thing is, Jane felt that based on her current state of affairs, Jas not divorcing her was solely due to his strong sense of responsibility and occupational relations. She didn’t doubt for a second that every day, every ti Jas saw her, he was enduring her presence.
Even so, still insisting on seeing her once a month?
Must be a form of masochism.
Jane couldn’t even be bothered to reply to Jas with a single ’Oh’. She opened WhatsAPP, posted twelve ’sighs’ and twelve exclamation points, followed by twelve crying emoji in Monts, then stuffed her phone back into her pocket and quickly caught up with the team entering the hotel.
Thanks to Daniel Taylor’s special attention, Jane, the female supporting role, also stayed in a single room, which was located right next to Daniel’s. After exchanging good nights, everyone retired to their own rooms.
Upon entering, Jane headed straight for the bathroom. Although the snacks from the night market were delicious, especially the barbecue skewers, the sll they left on her was rather indescribable.
So, Jane failed to hear her mobile phone, which she had casually tossed onto the bed, chiming again—a new text ssage had co in, and the sender, again, was Jas.
