Because she knew there was another person inside the room who would protect her, Jane Sampson didn’t feel so scared being alone in the room.

After the mute aunt ca in, she didn’t knock but directly walked in, without any hesitation lifted Jane Sampson’s quilt, and then pressed Jane Sampson to apply dicine on her arm. It was obvious that the mute aunt just considered this task as sothing Jas Black instructed her to complete.
Her movents, in fact, were even less gentle than when Jas Black applied dicine to Jane Sampson.
