After venting, Bright Sampton wanted to reach out and give Jane Sampson a hug, but as he stretched out his hand, he realized he was holding an urn.
Bright Sampton looked at Jane Sampson, his handso face suddenly turned pale with fear.
"Sister, you’re standing right here, so whose ashes have I been holding all day?" Bright Sampton stamred as he spoke.
His first reaction was almost to throw the urn into the trash can next to him, but as his hand moved forward, he suddenly rembered that it was an urn, not other trash that could be casually discarded.
He just awkwardly and fearfully held up the urn while staring at Jane Sampson.
Seeing that Bright Sampton seed ready to throw the hot potato at her, Jane Sampson mischievously dodged behind Old Master Black, waving her hand at Bright Sampton, "Don’t give it to ! I’m not holding soone else’s ashes! Especially soone I don’t even know. Just thinking about it scares to death! I don’t want to have nightmares tonight."
"!!!" Bright Sampson’s face turned white, "Are you really my sister? Or did grandfather of Black Family just mold a figure from clay to tease ?"
The speed of his retreat was like a gust of wind.
Is that really necessary?
Bright Sampson asked, "Can we still happily be brother and sister?"
"Bright, that’s an urn. It’s a big deal when soone dies; you should hold it carefully. If you don’t hold it steady, drop it or bump it, let’s see if you dare to sleep at night. Be careful, or the spirit might co crawling to your window, scolding you for being unkind," Peter Gingery said wickedly while standing there with a grin.
"Brother Peter Gingery, you’re brave. How about you hold it?" Bright Sampson offered the urn towards Peter Gingery, but Peter Gingery ran as quickly as Jane Sampson.
Bright Sampson felt like his head was going to explode, his face turned pale again, and he looked at Old Master Black, "Grandfather of Black Family? How should we handle this? Whose ashes are these? How could you give the ashes of soone I don’t know?"
Bright Sampson was on the verge of going crazy, feeling the hair on his scalp stand up.
"Otherwise, where would you get little Jane’s ashes for you? Your sister is alive and well. For soone as tough as she is, she’s surely going to live to be a hundred," Peter Gingery shrugged with a helpless look while saying sothing sarcastic.
Seeing that Bright Sampton was truly frightened, Jane Sampson decided not to continue teasing her brother.
"It’s often said that a person’s remains deserve respect. No one would give you a stranger’s ashes to hold. I reckon it’s mostly so kind of powder inside pretending to be ashes," Jane Sampson said. "They probably just put so similarly colored and textured powder to fool around with."
"Your sister is much smarter than you," Peter Gingery chuckled, "Go ahead, we were just teasing you. What’s inside is ground-up grains, not human ashes."
"Really?" Bright Sampson asked, half skeptical. "It’s not the ashes of the charred corpse by the riverside?"
"No, actually, that corpse was identified as a missing person later that night. The body is still in the ice storage, waiting for the case to be concluded and for the deceased’s relatives to be notified to claim it," Old Master Black reassured the poor Bright Sampson, "So, what’s inside is other types of powder."
Bright Sampson had complete faith in Old Master Black’s words. If Old Master Black said they weren’t human ashes, then they definitely weren’t.
Then, Bright Sampson let out a big sigh of relief and glared at the grinning Jane Sampson beside him, grinding his teeth, "You really are my good sister~"
