Good grief, after one night, Peter Gingery’s eyes were swollen as if kissed by a bee; standing there with a blank expression, no one could discern his emotions, as his eyes were completely unseen.
Julie and Mother Sampton both ca dressed very plainly, offered flowers, and stood before the coffin for a long ti, neither knowing what they were thinking. Several minutes later, the mother and daughter sighed simultaneously.
A sigh full of regret.
With people coming and going, Julie didn’t linger much with Mother Sampton, and Bright Sampton saw them to the doorway.
Julie looked at the haggard face of Bright Sampton and couldn’t help but offer a word of comfort.
