Not allowing Brooke Black a chance to catch her breath, Aunt ca over and said, "Miss Brooke, Mr. Sampton is outside requesting an audience."
"Mr. Sampton? Who?" Brooke Black was utterly exhausted, so for a mont didn’t react to who Mr. Sampton was.
"My father?" Bright Sampton reacted more quickly.
Aunt nodded.
Brooke Black felt even more headache when thinking about the person outside the door. She pointed upstairs, urging the three people sitting on the sofa to head to the room upstairs.
After returning to the room, Jane Sampson muttered to Bright Sampton, "Auntie looks so bad these few days; Auntie is too tired. I heard Aunt say that today before dawn, Auntie and Uncle-in-law got up."
"Tonight, we must make sure my mother returns to the room to rest early." Peter Gingery said, "She’s getting older, didn’t even think about sleeping for a while longer. Whatever needs to be done, can’t it be left to and my dad?"
Downstairs, Brooke Black asked Aunt to escort Father Sampton in.
Father Sampson entered and saw a coffin placed in the morial Hall, shivering unexpectedly.
Probably feeling guilty, he didn’t dare to look too much.
Seeing the living room was quiet with only Brooke Black sitting there, Father Sampton asked, "Why is there only President Black?"
"My dad is old and couldn’t hold on, so he’s gone for a lunch break. Everyone else has other things to busy themselves with, so I’m temporarily watching over things here." Brooke Black feigned ignorance of Father Sampton’s purpose, "Is Mr. Sampson here to bid farewell to Jane? Isn’t it rather late? Is Mr. Sampson accustod to attending funerals at such a ti?"

Father Sampson was rely afraid that in the morning, when Black Family mbers were coming and going, if he raised the topic of dividing Jane Sampson’s inheritance in front of so many people, a single spit from each of them could drown him.

However, Father Sampson couldn’t imdiately say he was there to talk about dividing Jane Sampson’s inheritance, so he could only nod along with Brooke Black’s words, claiming to be there to bid farewell to Jane.
Brooke Black was in a bad mood at this mont, so her tone was also unfriendly.
She glanced at Father Sampson, snorted, "Empty-handed?"
Father Sampson didn’t feel embarrassed and humd in response, "I thought you all would have sothing prepared."
Brooke Black coldly smiled and pulled at the corners of her mouth, sitting there without saying another word.

Upstairs, Peter Gingery was eavesdropping on the downstairs conversation through a crack in the door and couldn’t help muttering to Bright Sampson, "Never noticed before that your dad was so shaless."
Bright Sampson looked irritated.
He hadn’t realized his father was so disgraceful before either.
Downstairs, Father Sampson stood in front of the coffin pretending to say goodbye. In fact, he tightly closed his eyes, not daring to open them and take a look. After pretending for over a minute, he raised his hand to press on the corner of his eye which had no tears, and then stepped toward Brooke Black.
"President Black, there’s sothing I want to discuss with you." Father Sampson had sweaty palms, as the thing he valued most in life was reputation, yet now, for money, he couldn’t even care about his face.
Dying for face and suffering for it, Father Sampson admonished himself in his heart.
"Jane’s passing was sudden, but her inheritance should also be duly sorted out, divided among rightful parties. As her foster father, I raised her to adulthood, nurtured her to beco successful, logically speaking, I should have a share of her inheritance. I’m not greedy, I just want my share."
