If it wasn’t for a breakdown in emotions, Rock Bell couldn’t find any reason why Jane Sampson would discuss divorce so definitively. Having an affair and dostic violence seed to be the most straightforward reasons that could push soone towards divorce.
"No, no, no." Jane Sampson quickly shook her head to deny that, joking to herself. That guy Jas Black probably needs to be reborn to be able to change that old-fashioned temperant of his. Such things would never happen to him, okay?
"Then is he ugly? Or is it his poor technique? Impotence?"

"Ah, yes." Jane Sampson nodded, "I knew Sister Tin would know, we’ve t when we were kids!"
Of course, Rock Bell knew Jas Black, or rather, who in the whole Capital Province didn’t know Old Master Black’s grandson Jas Black?

"Our marriage contract was made when we were very young." Jane Sampson’s eyes blinked as she looked at Rock Bell. "I married him as soon as I graduated from university."
Rock Bell nodded slowly in understanding, half a beat late, "If it’s that Jas Black, then I understand you."
Those who knew of Jas Black were well aware of his personality and temper. He wasn’t very easy-going, seldom spoke unnecessarily, and was reserved and old-fashioned — these were the public’s impressions of him.
