A few seconds later, Nina coughed twice, "Didn’t deliver! Definitely didn’t! With how picky this spoiled brat is, let him starve for all I care! Why should I be the one to deliver food to him? I’d rather see him starve so he wouldn’t bother anymore, so there’s no way I’d deliver food to him!"
Luckily, Jane Sampson and Nina have been friends since childhood and knew Nina’s personality well.
Otherwise, with Nina’s long-winded denial, Jane Sampson almost believed it.
The more guilty Nina felt, the louder she spoke, as if being loud made her right.
So, Jane Sampson understood that Nina indeed went to deliver food, and even though Alexander Forest has a thick skin, it works when it cos to Nina.
"By the way, has your Jas Black not returned yet?" Nina quickly changed the subject, fearing that if she spoke too much, Jane Sampson might catch on. "How’s your arm injury? It’s been so long, has it scabbed over yet?"
Ever since Nina left the Black Family last ti, she hadn’t seen Jane Sampson again. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go, but before Jas Black returned, and before Jane Sampson returned to the public eye, she didn’t want to keep going to the Black Family, afraid of being seen and stirring suspicions.
After all, Peter Gingery had returned to the guard team, and even Bright Sampton had moved out of the Black Family. She couldn’t keep going to the Black Family just to visit Old Master Black, could she?
"Still hasn’t returned," Jane Sampson sighed, "It seems like his mission is pretty troubleso."
After saying that, Jane Sampson rolled up her sleeves to inspect her arm, and the sigh grew louder.
"Most of the scabs have fallen off, but it’s so itchy! The new skin itches so much, I really want to scratch it, but grandfather and them keep an eye on , not allowing to even think about touching it! It’s driving crazy, when it gets unbearable, I secretly rub it with my fingertips." Jane Sampson grimaced, looking like she was facing a great ordeal.
The small wounds have mostly healed, and the itch is bearable, but the more severely injured areas have been tornting her these past few days.
Sotis, the itch even made Jane Sampson lose her temper.
"The Old Sir and the others are doing it for your own good, don’t scratch, absolutely don’t scratch, or it’ll scar even worse," Nina carefully advised Jane Sampson. "Just hold on for a few more days, it won’t itch anymore soon."
"It’s not about holding on for a few days," Jane Sampson raised her head and howled, "Ah~ it’s obviously been ages! It’s been so long!"
The wounds varied in depth and size, so the recovery tis were completely different.
So healed quickly, so slowly.
So haven’t even scabbed over yet, sticking to the skin, and any accidental touch could bring tears to her eyes.
"Too bad Jas Black hasn’t returned yet, when he does, if you itch, you can just punch him to distract yourself," Nina comforted Jane Sampson, "When you go abroad to get rid of the scars, I’ll go with you."
Nina had learned from Peter Gingery that everything was already arranged by Brooke, but since Jane Sampson couldn’t go out now, and her arm injury wasn’t ready for scar removal, she could only rely on her willpower to get through each day.
Seeing Jane Sampson remain silent, Nina chuckled, "You’re not reluctant to hit your Jas Black, are you?"
"..." Jane Sampson sheepishly touched the tip of her nose.
Nina had hit the nail on the head.
"Jas Black is working so hard on his mission, it’s not like he made angry, why would I hit him," Jane Sampson timidly defended herself, "I’m a reasonable person, I can’t just throw tantrums."
"Ha, a manual goodbye," Nina scoffed, "I’m being considerate and you’re repaying kindness with bitterness by shoving dog food in my face! I’ll kick you away with a single swing and manually block you, goodbye!"
