Even kissing happened less often.
Oh!
Oh!
Oh, so she’s waiting here!
Jas Black pretended not to hear Jane Sampson’s childlike remark. He put on his clothes, lowered his head, and touched her head with his hand, "I’ll get the card myself, and hand over the delivery to you at noon."
After saying that, he walked out alone, looking refreshed. Oh, no, he looked satisfied as he strode out.
Get it myself?
Only then did Jane Sampson realize that even though the battlefield had shifted, it still wasn’t safe.
Jane suddenly regained her energy and dashed out, her steps pounding, even faster than Jas. She ran to the doorway of the study, spread her arms wide, and blocked Jas from outside the door.
"No more! No more rewards for you!" She shook her head vigorously.
"You were happy this morning." Jas stated this like a fact, and then continued, "You said that if I made you happy, there would be a reward. As an adult, Jane Sampson, you should keep your promise."
This again?
Can’t she just be a mischievous baby?
"I’m not happy." Jane turned her head away.
"I didn’t notice." Jas laughed.
"I’m just not happy!" Jane repeated firmly, emphasizing the three words.
"You were still happy when you woke up, and now you’re unhappy again?" Jas stood there, deeply reflecting, "Well, it seems my bed skills aren’t up to par?"
Now this was awkward.
Jane didn’t know how to respond.
Whichever way she thought about it, it was a question that could spell disaster.
If she said he was good, it would be a complint, proving she was happy.
If she said he wasn’t good, she’d keep the card but might suffer for it.
She compared both options and chose the lesser of two evils.
Jane retracted her arms and imdiately showed a diligent smile, "I’ll get the card for you! Giving rewards should have a sense of ceremony; I must give it to you myself!"
After saying that, Jane ran into the study, intending to close the door, but Jas reacted too quickly. As she reached for the door, he had already stepped in.
Seeing Jane’s hand stopped halfway, Jas quickly went inside and asked, "Weren’t you going to give the reward personally? What? I can’t co in?"
If he hadn’t entered, then he definitely couldn’t co in.
But now that he was inside, and she couldn’t push him out, naturally, he could co in.
After all, her slender arms and legs couldn’t beat him.
Jane chuckled at Jas, testingly asking him, "How did you know where I hid the card?"
"Didn’t you say it’s not in the bedroom but in the study? The study isn’t that big; it’s easy to find." After saying that, Jas pushed the still-standing Jane out of his way, "Go get it."
"..." I really believed your nonsense!
Jane was so mad she nearly bit down on her small white teeth.
In such a secretive place, she was foolish to think Jas could know!
"You leave, and then I’ll get it! I’m not showing you!" Jane pointed towards the doorway.
"Is it really necessary?" Jas instead sat on a chair, "Jane Sampson, you wouldn’t be guarding against , thinking I’d steal it, would you?"
Her inner thoughts were spoken out loud.
Jane was caught off guard, her courage suddenly spiked, and she loudly answered Jas, "Yes!"
Jas snorted at Jane’s response.
But under Jane’s round-eyed gaze, he stood up and walked out of the study, "Hurry up; I’m going to order food."
After saying that, he thoughtfully closed the study door behind Jane.
