Jane Sampson knew that Jas Black was referring to the call Peter Gingery had made to her a few days ago and the call Jas Black himself had made at noon today.

She glanced at Jas Black, whose expression was uncertain, and couldn’t be sure whether he had returned so suddenly because she hadn’t answered his call. In any case, Jane decided that later she would set his incoming calls to a very special ringtone, one that was imdiately recognizable as his and also the loudest and most piercing kind of music.

Choosing between answering his call and dealing with him in person, Jane naturally chose the forr.

"Speak." Jas Black emphasized his tone when requesting Jane to talk after not hearing her voice for a long ti.

"I’ve been busy with work. When Peter Gingery called , I didn’t see the missed calls until late at night, so I didn’t call him back. When you called at noon, my mobile phone was in the cabinet and I didn’t hear it," Jane explained quickly. "Don’t worry, from now on I’ll keep my mobile phone on at all tis, so I’ll definitely answer when you call!"

After saying this, Jane glanced at Jas Black and couldn’t resist asking curiously, "Did you co back suddenly this ti because I didn’t answer your call?"

Jas Black gave Jane a look and humd in response.

Jane stood there, feeling a sluggish pang of pain and responded with a delayed "oh," watching as Jas Black stood up from the sofa. She hastily stepped back.

"The house is too dirty; I’ve called the housekeeper to co clean it. Let’s go out for dinner first," Jas Black said, looking at Jane, which was his way of inviting her to go out with him.

"Actually, it’s not that troubleso. Tonight you can go back to sleep at the Solar Planet Guardian Team, and I’ll return to the company dormitory. It’s a waste if no one is staying here after cleaning," Jane muttered softly. She wasn’t talking to herself, but rather muttering for Jas to hear, hoping to elicit so agreent from him, and of course, if he complinted her on her cleverness, it would be even better.

However, Jas rely glanced at her and said bluntly, "Since I have returned, why rush back there?"

After saying this, Jas first grabbed his car key from the tea table, walked out the door, and waited for Jane at the doorway while pressing the elevator button.

Jane was delighted not to have to drive; she dumped her stuff on the sofa, slung her purse over her shoulder, and followed Jas out.

The September breeze was sowhat dry but very cool. Jane sat in the co-pilot seat, resting her head against the window and watching the scenery outside. Maybe it was because of the high-intensity training she had endured all day, the comfortable breeze on her face made her eyelids heavy with sleep, and later, she didn’t even realize when she had dozed off.

In Jas Black’s presence, Jane had always been quiet, so after getting in the car, it was nothing unusual for her to sit there without talking. It wasn’t until they were waiting at a traffic light that Jas asked Jane what she wanted to eat.

Before he received an answer, he heard Jane’s soft snoring first, which briefly surprised his expressionless face.

It had been at most five minutes since he had started driving, and Jane had actually fallen asleep in these brief five minutes?

Using the street lamp for light, Jas turned his head to scrutinize Jane’s face more closely. There was a layer of darkness under her eyes, probably from a lack of sufficient rest lately. Although she was now asleep, her face still bore obvious signs of exhaustion.

Rembering Jane’s explanation about being too busy with work to answer his calls, Jas’ hand on the steering wheel relaxed a little, then suddenly tightened again.
