After reading the comnts, Jane Sampson silently put away her mobile phone and then slowly reached out to grab a bag of potato chips. Seeing Jas Black turn his head to look at her, she quickly said, "This is my one bag for the week!"
So, she had to start from the biggest bag.
Jane felt relieved in her heart, thankful that when she bought them, she always chose the large bags. She thought to herself that she was quite clever.
Seeing Jas Black’s gaze shift away again, Jane kicked off her shoes and curled her legs up on the sofa. However, with the potato chips in hand, Jane encountered another problem.
Um, her right hand had no strength, and she couldn’t tear open the packaging.
In the house, only Jas Black could help her now.
Jane, holding the potato chips and barefoot, ran over and sat next to Jas Black. She handed him the potato chips with an especially lovely smile, "Jas, can you help open this?"
Jas Black humd in agreent, took the potato chips, and opened the packaging for Jane. Just as she was about to take them back, her mobile phone in her pocket suddenly rang.
It was a call from Rock Bell.
Jane hurriedly answered.
"Jane Sampson, you should eat less of those snacks. If you spoil your stomach, you’ll be the one crying," Rock Bell advised earnestly.
"It’s fine, Sister Tin, I have the kind of body that doesn’t gain weight," Jane assured her seriously.
"But eating those can make you breakout with acne," Rock Bell said directly, hitting the nail on the head.
Jane clasped her potato chips close to her chest, comforting herself. Eating just one bag a week wouldn’t do any harm.
"Anyway, take good care of yourself and cut down on those kinds of junk food. Oh, see if you can co to the company to sign a contract either tomorrow or today. I have two scripts for you to choose from. I haven’t had the chance to read them in detail yet. We can discuss it when you co."
"As for the scripts, we’ll talk about that later. What contract is it?" Jane asked.
"It’s the variety show I ntioned to you before. The Chief Director is your brother-in-law’s friend, so they’ve added you to it. The show has been confird now, and this ti it’s with the guard team. It might be quite tiring, so if you have ti these days, make sure to get in shape," Rock Bell said.
"Going to which team?" Jane glanced at Jas Black and muttered to herself, hoping it wouldn’t be so unlucky as to be the guard team Jas Black was in.
The guy was so against her acting career, if he knew she was filming a show with his guard team, he’d definitely make things difficult for her to push her into quitting. "That’s confidential. We won’t know until the program has officially started," Rock Bell said, knowing what Jane was worried about and offering a word of reassurance, "There’s nothing to worry about. It’s not certain you’d end up in your husband’s guard team. Depending on the program crew’s relationship with the local team, they might choose a location in the southland for convenience."
"The farther the better," Jane joked cheerfully, "then I’ll co to the company this afternoon."
"Okay, three o’clock. I’ll be waiting for you in my office," Rock Bell replied, "and you can et your assistant to see if you like them. If not, we can find soone else for you."
"Alright," Jane agreed and then hung up the phone.
The TV was on in the living room, so Jas Black didn’t hear who Jane was talking to on the phone, nor did he hear what the person on the call said to Jane. But he heard a phrase from Jane, "the farther the better."
"The farther the better? Where are you planning to go that’s so far?" Jas Black asked.
"Ah?" Jane reacted swiftly, "That ’farther the better’ wasn’t about distance; it was about ti. I was telling Sister Tin that with my hand injury, the further out the work is scheduled, the better, so I have plenty of ti to rest."
Yes, that’s it.
Jane breathed a sigh of relief in her heart.
