"He’s on vacation," Jane answered Jas naturally, "for one week."
Rock Bell had asked casually, as a way of greeting Jas, and she knew it was normal for Jas to leave the guard team over the weekend, but after Jane explained, Rock Bell couldn’t help but take another look at Jas.
A week’s vacation?
Did he take ti off just to take care of Jane?
Rock Bell mused to herself. Before today, she really hadn’t noticed that Jas was the kind of man so considerate in taking care of others. But since it was the couple’s business, Rock Bell didn’t ask further,
"Sit down, I’ve got so great news for you." Rock Bell stood up and walked over from her office desk, her face unable to hide her joy, "Guess who I just got a call from, Jane? Take a guess."
"My brother-in-law?" Jane guessed seriously, but there was only one person she could think of.
"Pfft, would I be happy to get a call from him?" Rock Bell suppressed a smile at the corner of her mouth, "It was a call from Jas Carter’s agent. He wants to collaborate with you. Jas Carter is making a coback."
Jane’s hand trembled lightly as she held her water cup, and water splashed out, wetting the back of her hand.
Quickly, Jas took the water cup from her hand and wiped the water off her back of the hand, his voice deepening, "Do you not want your left hand to recover either?"
Jane shook her head, "I’m just too surprised." She offered this as an explanation to Jas, and then looked back at Rock Bell.
She asked, "Jas Carter is making a coback?"
"Yes, it seems he’s planning to prepare for a coback concert and wants to invite you to be one of his honored guests. His agent suggested that Ms. Little strongly recomnded you. Ms. Little and Jas Carter are quite close."
After thinking for a mont, Rock Bell added, "The ssage from Jas Carter is probably that he wants to invite you to perform with him on stage. You play the piano, he sings. Jane, I rember you used to dream about performing with Jas Carter. Surprised, aren’t you? Your dream is about to co true, without any prior sign. Are you happy?"
Thinking of Jane’s nickna, Rock Bell felt happy for her.
Nina had said that the spiritual faith that supported Jane through her most unhappy phase was Jas Carter. There was a ti when Jane practiced like mad to get the opportunity to perform with him.
But for so reason, that dream faded away.
Rock Bell thought Jane would be as thrilled as her, but to her surprise, Jane shook her head and said, "Sister Tin, could you please turn it down for ?"
Seeing Rock Bell’s astonished expression, Jane felt compelled to explain, "Sister Tin, I haven’t touched the piano in a long ti."
"You still have your childhood foundation, right? Won’t you pick it up again with so practice?" Rock Bell argued, "Think about it, Jane. Not to ntion that Jas Carter is your favorite idol, but on a personal level, do you understand what it ans for you to be a guest at his coback concert? Not to exaggerate, but it’s like an instant rise to stardom. Even though Jas Carter has been out of the circle for a long ti, his popularity remains. The day he announces his coback, do you believe, he could occupy the hot search for a long ti?"
Rock Bell was short of saying, Jane, are you crazy? Such a good opportunity, to just say no?
