Mr. Carter’s mother’s face was shockingly that of a singer Jane Sampson had been watching ever since she was a little girl. When Jane was very small, she often joined Grandpa Sampton and Old Master Black in the house watching TV, which was typically programs about the guard team, sotis accompanied by various galas.

So, Jane had a deep impression of Jas Carter’s mother’s face because she had always thought this beautiful elder sister sang incredibly well since she was young.

As she grew older and occasionally saw the show, casting a glance and mumbling with Old Sir for a long while, she remarked that the singer was really good-looking. She thought she was young and beautiful as a child, and as she grew up, the singer had beco a performing singer and still looked so young and pretty.

Jas Carter stood behind Jane Sampson, watching his mother’s astonished reaction to Jane’s presence with a very satisfied look. He smiled helplessly and explained, "Gwendolyn Young, my mother, is a singer. I inherited my musical talent from her."

"Teacher Yang." Jane Sampson, sowhat excited, didn’t know where to put her hands; she wanted to reach out for a handshake with Teacher Yang, but after extending her hand, she rembered that she hadn’t washed her hands and shyly pulled it back with a smile, asking, "Can I take a photo with you later?"

Jane didn’t ntion that she had grown up listening to Gwendolyn Young’s songs, after all, Gwendolyn really looked exceptionally young.

Gwendolyn Young almost burst into laughter seeing Jane’s hand reach out and then retract; she patted Jane’s shoulder and laughed, "You’re quite a character, little lass. After we’ve eaten, we can take as many photos as you like, however you want."

After speaking, Gwendolyn Young turned to Jas Carter to give a couple of instructions, "It’s not often that a girl is willing to spend ti with you, so take good care of her. Don’t just bury your head in the study, leaving the girl downstairs."

While speaking, Gwendolyn Young gave Jas Carter a threatening gaze. Seeing him smiling helplessly with the corners of his mouth curled up, she turned and entered the kitchen contentedly.

"My mother, she..." Jas Carter, holding his fist to his lips, coughed softly, "is like this; you may need to get used to it."

"Teacher Yang is so approachable." Jane clutched her hands to her chest, instantaneously transforming back into a little fangirl, "No wonder Mr. Carter is so nice, because Teacher Yang is really great."

"That’s quite a technically skilled complint." Jas Carter was amused by Jane Sampson; her single sentence had complinted both of them.

Rembering that Jane Sampson’s husband was a defender and seeing his deanor, he must not be from an ordinary family either. So, Jane’s childhood circle probably did revolve around his mother’s songs.

"Let’s go, I’ll show you around the house," Jas Carter said, pointing upstairs. "Do you want to take a look at my study?"

Jane nodded repeatedly, and then Jas Carter walked ahead, leading her upstairs.

And Jane, standing behind Jas, watched him first use his cane to support himself on the floor, then lift his good foot onto a step. Once that foot was firmly planted, he shifted all his weight onto that side, lifted the cane up, and then brought his other, weaker foot up.

At this mont, Jane Sampson felt an inexplicable pang of heartache.
