Jas Black wasn’t angry, he leisurely brewed his tea and drawled, "You said it yourself, it’s the entire Black Family."
"I don’t agree with that, I think Jane and our little Peter are quite good, and she always has a smile for , her auntie," Brooke Black was quite pleased with herself.
Hearing Brooke Black ntion Peter Gingery, Jas Black paused for a mont and had to admit, Jane and Peter got along very well. Or rather, Jane, Peter, and Nina Rice, the three of them were like an iron triangle.
"I heard Jane went to work?" Old Master Black picked up his teacup, sniffed, and without praising the tea took a couple of sips, "Do you know what kind of work she’s doing?"
Jas Black ca back to his senses and unconsciously glanced toward the courtyard. At this mont, he didn’t know what Jane was saying to the Great General, she bent over, one hand resting on the Great General’s back, muttering in his ear with a sneaky expression on her face.
Jas Black was all too familiar with that expression, she was very likely egging the Great General on to do sothing.
Old Master Black waited a few seconds without a reply from Jas Black and tapped the tea table impatiently, urging him, "Don’t tell you don’t know your wife went out to work!"
"I know," Jas replied with a nod, "She said she’s doing sothing in the field of art, probably related to the piano."
"Art? That’s what she told you?" Old Master Black asked with so surprise. Then, as if he thought of sothing, his expression seed both profound and aningful when he looked at Jas Black again.
Old Master Black nodded with a smile, but Jas Black focusing on the courtyard scenery didn’t notice the old man’s smile hid a deeper aning.
Art, that’s an incredibly broad term...
Old Master Black couldn’t find anything wrong with Jane’s answer, but seeing that Jas thought she was working with pianos, he just nodded and humd in agreent.
Brooke Black, however, exclaid, "Jane went to work? That’s good. Many people have praised her piano talent. I always thought it was a pity that she left the scene after her marriage. Many people even asked if it was because Dad didn’t agree with his granddaughter-in-law performing and competing publicly."
Old Master Black got furious upon hearing this and roared, "Am I, the old man, that kind of fossil? If anyone’s stuck in the past, it’s Jas Black! What does it have to do with , the old man!"
Brooke Black was stunned by the outburst and defended herself in a low voice, "I didn’t say it was Dad, you have such a bad temper, going off like a bomb. Jas turned out this way today because you pressured him."
Brooke Black was the kind that would swiftly back away after provoking the tiger, while Jas Black remained as unflappable as Mount Tai, continuing his tea brewing process, not bothering to give Elder Black anything to soothe his mood, nor did he seem intent on pacifying him. He repeated the motions of brewing, adding, and drinking tea like a robot, until a voice ca from the doorway, prompting him to look up at the arriving person and dog.
After Jane entered the ho, she unhooked the Great General’s dog leash without even stepping outside the main gate—there really was no point to having the leash. She plopped down on the sofa, and seeing Jas Black pour her a cup of tea, she gulped it down since she was quite thirsty from being outdoors, burning her mouth and holding her head, whimpering softly.
Jas Black, looking at the cup Jane emptied in one second, didn’t know whether to feel sorry for his tea or laugh at Jane’s foolishness.
"Great General, snack ti!" Jane didn’t spare Jas Black another glance, catching her breath she patted General’s forehead and said.
