"So you’re not sleepy anymore?" Jas Black’s voice was tinged with a smile.
Only then did the woman in his arms finally open her eyes, but she glared at him.
The woman who had just been tenderly loved, with her cheeks flushed red and her eyes as beautiful as autumn waters shaping pupils, had no deterrent power in that glare. Instead, it was filled with petulant charm.
Jas chuckled to himself. Indeed, she was a delicate creature.
"Do you want to take a bath?" Jas Black didn’t tease Jane Sampson anymore. He was just concerned that she might be uncomfortable sleeping after sweating so much, so he asked.
Jane Sampson nodded, humd an affirmative, and then added, "I want to, but I have no strength."
Jas Black patted the small hand on his waist. "I’ll run the water for you."
"Okay," Jane responded quickly.
But...
The small hand wrapped around soone’s waist did not loosen or retract, but remained as before, with both hands encircling his waist and her face still resting against his chest, motionless, truly motionless.
Jas Black couldn’t help but conceal a chuckle, "Let go, will you?"
Jane’s face rubbed against his chest, with a voice muffled like a spoiled little kitten, "I’m too weak, don’t even have the strength to lift my arm."
After saying that, she humd and then added, "Let hold you a little longer~"
She had experienced that person’s physique even before her rebirth.
Before rebirth, intimate acts between husband and wife were never sothing he indulged in or fell for.
Neither did she.
Yet even so, his physical strength often left her feeling terrified.
And this ti, Jane Sampson could clearly feel, it was different.
He was different.
And she, it seed, was different as well.
"Looks like I need more training," Jas Black said, lightly patting the top of her head with his large palm.
Jane Sampson played dead, pretending she didn’t hear a word he said. She wasn’t truly so energy-depleted that she couldn’t even lift her arm. After all, she wasn’t that weak.
Not wanting to move was simply because, inexplicably, she didn’t want to let go.
She inexplicably coveted the warmth of his embrace at this mont.
She inexplicably coveted the brief monts of peace after pleasure.
She had never tried to hold onto him with such longing after being intimate. Before, after it was over, she would lie back in her own space, and occasionally, he would pull her back into his arms and hold her to sleep for the night.
But more often than not, she remained in her own little realm, alone with the anxiety and indifference between them after the pleasure.
Jane Sampson thought, maybe this quiet embrace wasn’t so bad.
"Jas Black." Jane Sampson suddenly spoke his na while in his arms.
Jas Black humd in response, his hand which was idly toying with her hair pausing slightly, as his eyes fell upon hers.
"Don’t stroke my head like you’re petting the Great General’s dog," Jane Sampson said, and suddenly letting go of him, she raised her foot and kicked the man beside her off the bed, "And go run my bath water!"
Jas Black was caught off guard and fell to the ground as Jane Sampson kicked him off the bed.
He was stunned for a few seconds before he ca to his senses and burst into laughter at Jane’s antics.
"Getting too arrogant, need to be put in your place?" He stood up from the ground and pounced back to firmly lock Jane Sampson in his arms.
"Old rascal! Get dressed and go run my bath water!" Jane Sampson felt sowhat cowed by Jas Black’s gaze but still pointed emphatically toward the bathroom with a commanding hand.
