"When did this guy learn such a cool move?"
Before Jane Sampson could reply, Jas Black’s voice dropped, "Didn’t receive it?"
Jas Black lowered his gaze in thought. It couldn’t be. The other party had said it would take at most one hour to deliver, but now more than an hour had passed.
"Received, received!" Jane Sampson hurriedly said, "So, a truckload of fruits, it really was you who bought them?"
"Mhm," Jas Black answered, "Didn’t you say you didn’t know who threw away your fruits? As long as you know the purpose behind their actions, that’s enough."
"Purpose? To disgust , to vex ," Jane reasoned. After all, throwing fruits didn’t hurt physically, nor did it cause loss of flesh. Such acts were nothing more than vexing, so regarding the fruit-throwing incident, Jane just felt a brief annoyance and then quickly returned to a good mood.
Having said that, Jane couldn’t hold back and let out a giggling laugh.
"So you bought a truckload of fruits to vex that person in return, huh?" Jane asked while laughing.
"Yes," Jas Black confird.
"Not knowing who this person is, you just distributed the fruits, sharing them with everyone from the director to the errand-runners and extras in the film crew. Everyone got a share, and it’s bound to reach the hands of the person who threw away your fruits. You’re happy, and naturally, the person who threw your fruits isn’t happy. By making that person unhappy, you’ve effectively vexed and disgusted them in return."
Saying this, Jas Black paused, then suddenly spoke in a very serious tone, "Jane Sampson, no one can bully you, understand?"
Even Jane, still imrsed in Jas Black’s clever strategy, was stunned by his sudden shift to a serious and earnest statent.
"If soone bullies you and you just swallow it, it only invites them to bully you a second ti. You must retaliate boldly, so they’ll know you’re not to be trifled with," Jas Black’s voice carried a hint of severity, but Jane knew the emotion wasn’t directed at her.
It was the first ti Jane realized that striking back at soone could be done so subtly and yet be so satisfying.
"I understand," Jane’s laughter was light as her fingertips brushed over the back of her mobile phone. She raised her eyes to look towards the tractor and saw Harry Humming and the crew mbers around the tractor selecting fruits to eat, everyone’s face was filled with smiles.
Suddenly, Jane felt sowhat reluctant to hang up the phone.
"Thank you," Jane’s voice was so soft, she herself wasn’t sure whether Jas Black on the other end could hear her gratitude.
But Jas Black did hear it.
"Jane Sampson, I don’t think a husband needs a ’thank you’ from his wife for simply taking care of her," Jas Black’s tone was a bit sour.
"Okay, so no thanks," Jane, expert at reading moods, quickly changed her tune and then hee-hee’d a silly laugh into the phone at Jas Black.
"Hmph," Jas Black raised his eyebrows, then added, "If you really want to thank , that’s fine too, depending on your sincerity."
So, who was it just now saying there’s no need for thanks between husband and wife?
Why can n change so quickly?
One second, just like that, going back on his own words?
"What sincerity?" Jane asked.
"When you have ti, co and stay with the guard team for a couple of days," Jas Black said at an unhurried pace, "that’s decided then. I’ve got stuff to do; hanging up now."
As soon as he finished speaking, the call was disconnected, and listening to the busy tone "du-du-du" on the phone, Jane felt as though she had been struck by lightning.
Co on, don’t hang up! What do you an it’s decided!?
