The makeup artist was briefly touching up Jane Sampson’s makeup when Harry Humming started to worry about her. Although Director Wilson had a better temper than most in the industry, if Jane kept stalling on the emotional scenes, it could eventually provoke his ire and affect the shooting schedule, potentially impacting Jane’s professionalism.
Fortunately, Harry’s concerns were unfounded. When Jane faced the cara again, she finally found her groove. Although she still couldn’t perfectly convey the repressed emotions required, her performance had improved significantly from the start.
After watching for a few minutes, the creases in Director Wilson’s forehead eased. He was inwardly pleased, acknowledging Jane’s quick adjustnt—a promising talent indeed, worthy of the opportunities he’d provided.
Once Mandy Forest was done filming, she saw everyone in the film crew, who wasn’t busy, eating a variety of fruits.
Returning to her spot, she noticed Elizabeth King and her assistant huddled together, causing her brow to furrow slightly.
"Where did everyone buy their fruits from? Is there a fruit vendor in the village now?" Mandy asked.
She was addressing her assistant, but Elizabeth quickly jumped in, saying eagerly, "Sister Mandy Forest, the fruits were sent by Sister Jane’s friend. They got a truckload of fruits from the county town, all sorts of varieties. Today, Sister Jane is treating the entire crew to fruits."
Elizabeth held up a bag like presenting a trophy, "Sister Mandy, I’ve got so for you too. We’ve got fresh lychee, mangoes, apples, and I’ve also chilled so in ice-cold water for you."
Both Elizabeth and her companion failed to notice the slight shift in Mandy’s deanor upon hearing that Jane’s friend had bought a truckload of fruits for her.
"Jas Carter is from the southland, and didn’t you say that he and Jane get along well? Maybe it was Jas who sent them," Mandy sat in her chair with a slightly heavier expression. After speaking, the corners of her mouth twitched, and she couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.
Elizabeth was startled by Mandy’s cold laugh, looking at her with confusion and shook her head, "I’m not quite sure, but it’s possible, Mr. Carter is indeed quite nice."
After so thought, Elizabeth added, "Sister Mandy Forest, you might not be aware, but yesterday, so malicious person from our crew threw away Sister Jane’s fruits that were hanging at the doorway, tossing them into the gutter near the door. It was so pitiful that Sister Jane couldn’t enjoy any of the fruits."
"That’s true, the whole crew’s been talking about it," Mandy’s assistant nodded along fervently.
"Oh really?" Mandy replied dryly, pretending to ditate with her eyes closed, untouched by the fruits placed on the table.
After a few minutes, she suddenly opened her eyes, asked her assistant for her mobile phone, sent a text ssage, and then put the phone away.
Aside from the initial struggles with the emotional scene, the rest of the day’s filming went smoothly once Jane adjusted her performance.
While the film crew was bustling with activity, the internet buzzed in the evening as well.
A story exposing Shirley Young’s cohabiting girlfriend suddenly spread online, skyrocketing to the top of the hot search rankings in just two hours.
