The car had barely left the village before Jane Sampson started to fully arm herself with her protective gear, keeping her mask, hood, and glasses on all the way to the airport VIP Room in the city district. Not a bit of her face was exposed.
Yet even so, Jas Carter, who ca to pick her up, spotted her in the crowd at a glance and waved at her from afar.
"Mr. Carter, you have impressive eyesight! I’m all bundled up like this, and you still recognized at a glance?" Jane pushed her suitcase over to Jas Carter, and when she reached him, she smiled, though with her face covered, he probably couldn’t see it.
"Is that so? I do seem to have the ability to recognize you from a crowd in one glance. It isn’t difficult." Jas Carter explained with a smile and then reached out to help Jane with her suitcase.
"No need, no need, Mr. Carter. I can handle this myself. It’s just a few clothes and a bit of costics, not heavy." Jane looked at the cane in Jas Carter’s hand and shook her head repeatedly.
"Even though this leg isn’t very responsive, as you said, it’s not heavy. So, helping a lady with a light suitcase is still within my capabilities," Jas Carter said with a smile, "You can treat as a normal person, I’m not that fragile."
Jane hesitated for a few seconds before letting go and handing over the suitcase to Jas Carter. Seeing him push her suitcase without much difficulty put her mind at ease.
Jas Carter had a tenacious spirit that refused to be beaten. The inconvenience of his leg had not made him think less of himself.
That was sothing Jane admired about him.
Jas Carter’s driver was waiting at the airport. After both of them got into the car, Jas Carter first dropped Jane off at the hotel she had booked. After waiting for her to settle her luggage at the hotel, they went straight to his studio.
"Filming these past few days with the film crew must have been tough, right?" Once they arrived at the studio, Jas Carter directly led Jane to the recording room.
"It’s okay, I got used to it." Jane shook her head, "I really love this fulfilling life, it makes feel that every day is full of hope."
Jas Carter glanced down at Jane and seeing no sign of fatigue on her face, he knew she was telling the truth; she truly enjoyed the life she was living now.
"Let’s not record first, we’ll practice a bit." Jas Carter arranged it this way at first because he thought that with Jane being so busy recently, she probably hadn’t had much ti to practice the song.
Seeing Jane nod, Jas Carter started singing. When he sang this song, he would intentionally lower his voice to make it sound a bit husky.
But when Jane began to sing, and he saw that she didn’t even look at the score and smoothly picked up where he left off, Jas Carter was nothing short of astonished.
Without asking further, it was clear to him that she must have been practicing during this ti.
The version he had heard before was an a cappella recording from her mobile phone, and at that ti, it had already struck Jas Carter with awe. Now, listening to her sing the song face to face without any dium, Jas Carter felt the impact on his soul through her voice.
As Jane sang, her eyes were lowered, resembling a child who had lost their way and was overwheld with despondency. She managed to infuse this emotion into the song so effortlessly that she could easily move the listeners’ senses and emotions.
When the song ended, Jas Carter couldn’t help but smile, "I think we might be able to finish recording this afternoon."
Her talent was exceptional. He just needed to fine-tune his own voice to find the right tone that would blend seamlessly with hers.
In their duet, she didn’t need to change anything; Jas Carter thought that he should be the one adapting to Jane Sampson.
