John Young said with a laugh, "I’ve always felt that the movie the song is also one of the souls of a film. Without a the song powerful enough to encapsulate the essence of the movie, I’d rather not have it."
John Young casually asked, "I’m a bit curious, what is the source of your inspiration for writing lyrics? Honestly, both Jas Carter and I were very impressed when we saw your words."
"It just ca to ," Jane Sampson smiled. Just then, the waiter ca in with the dishes, so she turned the conversation to the food.
She couldn’t tell others what her inspiration was, nor could she explain where the impulse ca from.
Neither John Young nor Jas Carter noticed that Jane Sampson was deliberately changing the subject. As soon as the food was on the table, both introduced the signature dishes of the restaurant to Jane, teaching her how to enjoy each dish on the table to taste the best flavors.
No cigarettes, no wine, but this dinner satisfied all three of them imnsely.
After the al, John Young poured Jane Sampson a glass of juice and casually asked, "The drama you’re currently shooting, the female lead is Mandy Forest, right?"
"Yes, that’s her." Jane Sampson nodded. "Do you know Sister Mandy Forest?"
"I don’t know her, but your Mr. Carter does." John Young suddenly chuckled, then lifted his eyes towards Jas Carter and asked, "Don’t you have anything you want to ask?"
Jane Sampson looked curiously at Jas Carter. What she saw was still his face, with a faint smile.
She heard his voice gently say, "There’s nothing I want to ask."
However, Jane Sampson clearly saw his gaze briefly avoid hers.
Jane didn’t pry any further, even if she wanted to. She really had nothing to say because she had no real acquaintance with Mandy Forest. Even though they had been in the sa film crew for half a month, her familiarity with Mandy was not even as much as Elizabeth King’s with Mandy.
Jane always had a feeling that there was so kind of barrier between her and Mandy, so she just maintained a superficial relationship with her.
"Psh, you’re really no fun like this," John Young waved his hand dismissively and then turned to talk to Jane about her new play. He asked when her last movie was premiering and promised that he would co to support her then.
After dinner, John Young went straight to the airport to fly back to Smytheton. He had co to Springtown specifically to see Jane Sampson in person and to invite her for a al as a token of gratitude.
Jas Carter, driving, took Jane for a night tour of Springtown. The car circled around Springtown’s largest river for more than an hour. Jas was an excellent guide, introducing Jane to the history of Springtown and the legends filled with various anings along the way.
Because of that night tour, all the scenes in Jane’s dreams were of Springtown’s Wake Spring River, sparkling with starlight at night. When he dropped her off, Jas told her that if she had the chance, she could co to this city not for work, to feel the atmosphere of the city, and maybe then she would fall in love with it.
In fact, Jane had already fallen for the city.
Ever since she knew that Jas Carter was born in Springtown, she had always liked this southland city known as Springtown.
