Four of us went straight back to the dormitory. After resting for about more than half an hour, Charlotte Miller was called out by Helen Watson. The other three were not curious enough to follow and see, so they didn’t know which room Helen Watson took Charlotte Miller to.
Hibiscus Wood lay in bed, too tired to muster even an expression.
"I have no idea what will happen tomorrow," sighed Mair Williams. "These two days have had sweating more than I have in my whole lifeti."
Hibiscus Wood turned her head and glimpsed at Jane Sampson, who seed unaffected and was still boiling water for everyone. She couldn’t help but feel envious.
So people really can’t be compared. It’s no wonder that Jane Sampson, as a newcor, has such a high starting point and such great resources.
When Hibiscus Wood first heard that Jane Sampson would be joining the program recording, she was utterly shocked.
Everyone knows how many artists are sharpening their elbows trying to get into this variety show, resorting to any ans necessary. For a spot, they use connections and owe favors. Even for her, her agent and company had pulled strings and called in many favors to squeeze her in.
Yet, Jane Sampson was one of the first female participants who had been confird early on.
Waking up in the morning, although Hibiscus Wood didn’t ask, she knew that Jane Sampson hadn’t returned all of last night. Having felt unwell all night, Hibiscus Wood hadn’t rested well. When she woke up around four in the early morning, Jane’s bed was still empty.
However, being circle insiders, Hibiscus Wood also knew that it was inappropriate to pry into such matters.
Still, even though she did not inquire, out of curiosity, Hibiscus Wood could not help but ponder throughout the day, wondering who could have kept Jane Sampson out all night.

No matter who it was, Hibiscus Wood secretly envied Jane. She must have been well taken care of last night since she returned with a smile at the corners of her eyes and brows.
That was a genuine smile, an emotion so strong it’s difficult to hide.
Happiness.
Hibiscus Wood had not considered that Jane Sampson’s absence last night might involve so indecent exchange. When Jane returned last night, she, like everyone else, was too exhausted to move, which showed that the so-called regular exercise was nothing but casual talk.
Her absence, followed by her rejuvenated return, naturally ant she had rested well last night.
"Hibiscus Wood, Mair Williams, I’ve boiled so water for your cups, it’s quite hot, so be careful if you’re going to drink it now," said Jane Sampson as she placed both of their cups within easy reach before she sat back on her own bed.
Charlotte Miller and Helen Watson returned after just ten-plus minutes, and the second person Helen Watson called out was precisely Jane Sampson.
Helen Watson didn’t take Jane Sampson too far, just to a room on the first floor. She had Jane enter the room alone.
Upon pushing the door open and entering, Jane saw the director sitting inside, smiling at her.
There were surveillance caras all around the room and a caraman standing next to the director.
"Sit," said the director, pointing to the chair opposite him for Jane to sit. "It’s your third night with the guard team, and nearly half the ti has passed. So, let’s talk about your feelings these past few days."
Once Jane Sampson sat down, the director smiled again and said, "These three days, you’ve been the most amusing of the eight. However, your instructor praised you this afternoon."
