"No need, no need," Jane Sampson waved her hands repeatedly, "Our team’s victory wasn’t due to , it’s mainly thanks to John River and the others."
Jane was the epito of modesty, and after speaking, she even lowered her head and gave a shy, coy smile.
Taking liberties.
Jas Black’s eyes were so cold they could have turned the water molecules in the air into ice!
"When you were climbing the tree, did you consider the consequences?" Jas’s voice was even colder than just now.
"I considered them," Jane nodded seriously.
"And what did you consider?" Jas didn’t believe a single word of Jane’s answer. How could soone who truly considered the consequences still climb such a high tree?
"I considered that I might still get chased even if I climbed up," Jane said and then looked up at Jas, chuckling.
Jas felt like he was about to burst a vein with Jane’s attitude, "Jane Sampson! No laughing! Straighten out your attitude of admitting your mistake!"
With Jas’s tone being very serious, Jane finally dared not continue with her jokes, and she beca quiet, no longer laughing.
"Falling from the tree, the best-case scenario is, you die cleanly. If you can’t die and end up a vegetable, that’s fine too, since you also wouldn’t feel anything. But what if you end up paralyzed, what then?" Jas sneered, "If one day you make yourself paralyzed from a fall, I’ll just throw you in the hospital and not give you a second glance."
Speaking softly, Jane replied, "I know you’re not that kind of person."
A person who could have lived yet chose to be buried in the ruins with her for her sake—this was the Jas Black she knew, not a cold-blooded man.
His sense of responsibility would never allow him to do such things.
However, seeing that Jas was indeed very angry, Jane also realized that what might seem trivial to her was highly magnified in Jas’s eyes.
"I’m sorry." This apology was much more sincere than the earlier one, Jane said, "I shouldn’t have done sothing dangerous, I won’t do it again, so, can you please not be angry anymore?"
Upon hearing Jane’s words, the fire in Jas’s heart receded just a little.
Isn’t this a clear understanding of everything? Yet, she always pretends to be ignorant and unaware. If it’s not asking for trouble, what is it?
Jane sighed in her heart, it’s over, Jas was even more upset this ti than the last ti he was mad at her.
She took two steps forward, standing in front of Jas, then reached out to hold his hand. Unsurprisingly, it was shaken off by soone with a cold face.
"Stand properly!" Jas said in a raised voice.
After contemplating, Jane hugged Jas and then tiptoed to lightly kiss the corner of his mouth. Only after the kiss did she say, "Don’t be mad, okay? Being angry makes you age faster."
Jas looked down at the lips that had just kissed him, suppressing the slight stir in his heart; his face still showed no emotion, "Did I allow you to kiss ?"
"..." Jane was stunned, Is permission needed for such a thing?
When he kissed her, he never asked for her permission.
Seeing Jane’s surprised yet adorable expression, Jas added, "Acting cute won’t work either."
As Jane was about to reach out to him, Jas stepped back to avoid her, "No whining either, that won’t work."
