Playing innocent was supposed to earn her an amnesty order from Jas Black, but to her dismay, as soon as she put down her pen, he withdrew his gaze and didn’t give her even a single word.
What a headache.
Jane Sampson tugged at the notebook and sighed inwardly.
As an exemplary student, she had never written a self-criticism report before; she had no experience and no idea how to write one.
When Jane wasn’t looking, the corner of Jas Black’s mouth curled up inadvertently.
Of all the people Jas knew, Jane definitely had the most expressive face.
Annoyed, distressed, coquettish, cute, angry, reluctant, and so on—each expression was completely different when it appeared on her face.
It really was hard to imagine how soone so lively had the determination to pretend to be such a stoic person in the past.
Jas turned a few more pages in the book he was holding, then placed the bookmark to make a mark.
When he looked up again at the woman opposite him, he noticed that Jane Sampson had sprawled out on the tabletop, her eyes closed.
"Jane Sampson, don’t pretend to sleep," Jas said as he gently tapped her on the head with his hand, his touch so light it was more like a caress.
"Jas Black, my stomach hurts~" Jane slowly lifted her head, grimacing and twitching, her eyes also red.
It was then that Jas noticed one of Jane’s hands was covering her stomach.
He quickly stood up, went over to her, and asked, "Have you taken any dicine?"
"No," Jane shook her head.
Jas promptly picked her up and carried her back to the bedroom, then gently laid her down on the bed, "I’ll get you so water so you can take so dicine."
He knew Jane, who ate all sorts of things recklessly throughout the day, would have stomach pains. She wasn’t made of steel after all but a delicate little woman. How could she not have a stomachache after eating like that?
Damn it, who ca up with today’s ga rule and didn’t arrange a al for the artists? Is the guard team so desperate to save on one al for a few artists?
Jas went to the kitchen, quickly poured a cup of water for Jane, and returned to the bedroom. Almost subconsciously, he pulled open a drawer, took out so dicine, opened it, and shook four pills into his palm.
"The doctor said to take four pills," Jas said, holding his palm out to Jane.
Jane counted one, two, three, four, then drank so water, grabbed all four pills at once, and put them in her mouth. With a tilt of her head and a gulp, she swallowed all four pills at once.
Then, she showed off to Jas, opening her mouth wide and saying "Ah," to flaunt it. "Impressive, right? Do you know Nina Rice would need several tries to finish these few pills?
She raised four fingers, "This small amount of dicine, Nina would need at least four attempts! And if the pills were a bit larger, she’d have to split it into eight! Every ti she takes dicine, she has to swallow a bellyful of water. It cracks up."
"Natural talent can’t compare to a dicine pot that’s been on dication since childhood," Jas mocked Jane. There’s no need to brag about just being able to take dicine, is there?
He spoke as if the little girl who had tried to secretly pour out Chinese dicine and was caught crying and hiccupping, swearing she’d never dare again, wasn’t her.
"Lie down," Jas took the cup of water from Jane’s hand. After washing the cup and returning it to the kitchen, he noticed the light was still on in the study. He went in, planning to clean up the table before heading back to the bedroom.
The notebook he had given Jane was on the table, with only one sentence written on it. Jas glanced at it and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
