In Jas Black’s eyes was the sight of Jane Sampson’s laughing face, not too far away. He reached out to rub her forehead and said with a hint of helplessness, "When did you develop this awful habit? As soon as you sleep, you like to burrow entirely under the quilt, not afraid of suffocating yourself to death."
"I won’t suffocate," Jane laughed heartily, her little face flushed.
After she responded, she stood up to grab her mobile phone for a look, but Jas Black imdiately snatched it away, saying, "The alarm hasn’t gone off yet. It’s still early."
As he spoke, Jas placed the mobile phone on the bedhead cabinet on the other side, then pulled the seated Jane back and embraced her forcefully, "Sleep for a while longer."
"Let go! Let go! Let go!" Jane, getting hot and flustered, protested, "It’s so hot!"
Seeing Jane puff up with anger, Jas instead smiled with the corners of his mouth lifted. He didn’t let her go but instead flipped open the quilt on top of her.
"I’ll accompany you to John Young’s film premiere," declared Jas. "I’ve looked over your itinerary. The day before you go to the premiere, you will return to Capital Province, and then we will fly from there to City Smytheton together."
Seeing Jane pretending not to hear, Jas’s tone changed, "I am not asking for your opinion."
"Fine! Got it!" Jane huffed, "Can you let go of now?"
By now, Jane had realized that Jas had her schedule down pat.
What’s with this guy, took the wrong dicine?
Getting too clingy! Does he have a cat’s curiosity or sothing?
Jas did not respond to Jane, simply holding her and closing his eyes. Clearly, he intended to keep holding her and sleep a bit more.
Jane was so exasperated she was about to explode on the spot. Pushing was useless; Jas’s strength was enormous, like an elephant’s.
Jane closed her eyes in despair. What else could she do?
Unable to push him away, unable to beat him.
What else indeed!
Hmph!
Sleep then!
Jane cursed Jas out in her mind and went back to catch up on sleep.
When she woke up again, it was the alarm clock that had roused her. The man who had been holding her was nowhere to be seen; she didn’t know when he had gotten up.
As she heard so noise in the living room, Jane went out after washing up, just in ti to see Jas bringing a bowl out of the kitchen.
"Did you go for a morning run?" Jane wondered to herself, she must have slept really deeply, for she hadn’t noticed when Jas got up.
Jas didn’t answer but simply placed the bowl in front of Jane.
In fact, he had not.
Jas had only gotten out of bed and co downstairs fifteen minutes ago. With the soft, delicate young wife lying in his arms, the thought of a morning run had completely left his mind.
"When you go out, rember to wear a mask and all that. I noticed so paparazzi at the doorway when I went out to buy breakfast," Jas instructed Jane, "The last ti, we couldn’t figure out who in the film crew leaked the news about you changing assistants. Be careful with the people around you. This person is from the sa film crew; it could be soone from the personnel, or it might as well be another actor."
Jane nodded. If even Jas couldn’t find out, then it ant that this person was really well hidden.
She wondered who it was who needed to make up such nonsense about sothing as trivial as her changing assistants, just to throw dirt on her.
Inside the paparazzi circle, there were plenty who were highly ethical. No matter how much money Jas offered, they wouldn’t reveal who leaked the news to them.
After eating, Jas carried Jane’s luggage in one hand and held her hand with the other as they went downstairs. One advantage of living in a luxury residence was the strict security; ordinary paparazzi and reporters couldn’t get inside. Thus, Jane sat peacefully in Jas’s car, passing by the paparazzi camped at the door without incident, with the paparazzi glancing at the license plate that belonged to the guard team’s area and swiftly directing their gazes elsewhere.
