Jas Carter had many friends, and almost everyone in the circle could exchange a few words with him.
Perhaps there were very few, like Jane Sampson, with whom he felt just as comfortable.
Especially female artists, Jas Carter usually kept his distance to avoid various kinds of gossip in the circle.
But when he learned that Jane Sampson was also in City S these two days, he couldn’t help wanting to see her, this little miss who made people feel especially comfortable when she smiled.
Jas Carter knew that Jane Sampson was already married and that Jane Sampson’s husband was a defender, and he thought that maybe it was because Jane was married that he felt no psychological burden when interacting with her, not worrying that the girl might harbor wild thoughts.
"I have no other plans, absolutely," Jane accepted cheerfully. Her work today was scheduled for the dayti, so she did have ti for a al with Jas Carter.
"Then all right, when you can leave work, give a call, and I’ll co pick you up," Jas Carter relaxed hearing Jane’s tone was not reluctant.
"Okay, I’ll give you a call after finishing work," Jane said with a smile after she had finished speaking, "I need to think about where to go for so good food with Mr. Carter during this dayti."
After hanging up the phone, Jane’s mood inexplicably improved.
She looked at herself in the mirror and didn’t notice at all that Mandy Forest’s expression was becoming increasingly ugly across from her.
It wasn’t until Mandy suddenly called out to her and asked, "Is Jas Carter now in City S?"
Jane raised her eyes to Mandy across from her, but didn’t speak. Jas Carter’s schedule was his privacy; even if Jane had arranged to have dinner with Jas in the evening, she had no right to disclose his schedule.
So, Jane chose to pretend she hadn’t heard.
Knowing Mandy for such a long ti, Jane thought that Mandy, not getting a response from her, would keep quiet.
Unexpectedly, Mandy suddenly stood up and asked again with a sharp voice, "Jane Sampson, is Jas Carter in City S or not!"
Mandy’s voice suddenly beca shrill, and beyond that shrillness, Jane could even hear a sob in Mandy’s voice.
Jane was taken aback, and the makeup artist behind her was also stunned.
"Sister Mandy Forest," Jane ca to her senses after a few seconds and then said, "Sister Mandy Forest, I really can’t talk casually about Mr. Carter’s matters; those are his private affairs."
"Are you really with him?" Mandy, as though completely unaware of her lapse in composure, circled around, reaching out and directly grabbing Jane’s shoulder.
It was a pale hand, trembling almost.
"Jane Sampson, I’m begging you, tell , are you really with him?" As Mandy spoke, tears suddenly started falling.
Jane had seen the commanding Mandy Forest, seen her smiling amiably at crowds with her adept social skills, seen her on TV playing countless roles, but she had never seen Mandy Forest so humbly begging anyone.
"Sister Mandy Forest." Jane stood up. Although she didn’t know what relationship existed between Mandy Forest and Jas Carter, she finally realized that Mandy Forest and Jas Carter must know each other.
