"So, you’re also the makeup artist for the premiere, aren’t you?" Jane Sampson asked Quincy Forest, who was in the mirror, securing her stray bangs back with a hair clip.
"Smart guess." Quincy replied cheerfully, "I told my dad I wanted to start a makeup studio, and he agreed. He even gave the startup funding, I’m thrilled to death!"
"I bet as long as you’re not out committing murder or arson, whatever you do, your mom and dad will support you, right?" Jane teased, jokingly poking Quincy’s waist, "Ask your dad for , does he still lack a beloved daughter?"
"If it’s you, my parents would definitely say they’re lacking, especially my mom, she can’t stop talking about how much she likes you." Quincy said with a chuckle, "But they really do spoil more than my brother, he’s pretty jealous about that."
After taking a playful jab at her brother Alexander Forest, Quincy couldn’t help but start gossiping about her cousin Kane Forest with Jane.
"Little Jane, do you know why my cousin ca to Smytheton this ti?" Quincy hadn’t even finished her question when she burst into uncontrollable giggles.
"He said it was half business, half vacation." Jane replied, "I asked him at the airport. Oh, by the way, Jas Black and I are planning to take your brother out for a al, so since you’ll be there, you should join us."
"Absolutely, I’m going. I’ll be heading back with my brother, and we’ve booked the sa flight." Quincy was overjoyed at the prospect of a al, especially one with Jane and her husband, along with her own brothers.
"Let tell you, my cousin didn’t co here for business or a vacation on his own." Quincy hadn’t forgotten the gossip about Kane she wanted to share with Jane, "The day before I arrived, I accidentally overheard my brother talking to his assistant. My cousin didn’t co to Smytheton for business; he ca to find soone."
"Find soone? What do you an by that?" Jane felt Quincy’s definition of ’soone’ might be a bit broad. She guessed casually, "A girlfriend?"
"Not a girlfriend. I called the person ’soone’ because I don’t know who it is. Maybe even he doesn’t know exactly who it is. From what he said, it sounded like he knew this person was coming to Smytheton, so he paused his work to fly here, probably hoping for a chance encounter in the city," Quincy explained, "This person seems to be soone my cousin likes. It’s quite shocking, actually. I never thought my cousin could have an unrequited love."
After hearing the whole story, Jane blinked in surprise, "Your cousin doesn’t have a girlfriend. It’s pretty normal for him to have a crush, right?"
"Normal my ass, he’s not like my brother. My brother is a playboy, always surrounded by girlfriends, but my cousin is different. To my knowledge, he’s never been in a relationship. My Elder Uncle’s family and my parents are all worried that my cousin might be into boys."
Quincy tried to contain her laughter so as not to affect her work, then continued, "When I was young, every ti my parents criticized my brother for his early romances, telling him to focus on studies like my cousin, they’d say, ’Will you die if you spend a day without won? Will you die?’ Now, my parents don’t ntion it anymore; they probably feel relieved that my brother turns out to be a playboy rather than soone like my cousin who’s buried in work and still doesn’t have a girlfriend."
