Jane Sampson went to a charity dinner in the evening, so she had her makeup on. While washing her face after a nosebleed just now, she completely forgot about her makeup and roughly wiped her face with clear water twice.
Since Jas Black was standing by her side the whole ti, she had been constantly embarrassed. After washing her face, she was led away by Jas without giving herself a second glance in the mirror.

"Even looking this ugly, you still kissed for so long." Jane was much shorter than Jas, so to not appear weak while talking to him, she painfully stood on her tiptoes, her face leaning closer to Jas’s as she asked word by word, "So, Jas, how much do you like ?"
Jas raised his eyebrows but didn’t answer the question.
Seeing Jane struggling on tiptoe, he simply scooped her up with one arm and set her on the washbasin, while playfully taunting, "Little shorty."
Jane felt a pang in her heart from being teased out of the blue.
"I am tall!" Jane ground out through clenched teeth, "I am 167! I can be both a delicate darling and a formidable lady. What do you know!"
Watching her sitting on the washbasin, frantically waving her hands, one second miming a delicate darling and the next, a pose of authority, Jas held back only to burst out laughing eventually.
"Sure, whatever makes you happy," Jas said, reaching out to ruffle Jane’s hair.
Here it cos again! That feeling of being treated like a pet dog returned!
"I’m not the Great General," Jane protested with a pout.
"Hmm, no, you’re not," Jas seriously nodded, "The Great General would be much smarter than you."
"That’s an attack on my person!" Jane puffed up her cheeks, jumped down from the washbasin, and stord past Jas to remove her makeup in a huff.
With her face looking like a ss, Jane couldn’t even stand her own reflection.
After removing her makeup and taking a shower, Jane finally felt refreshed, lying on the bed.
anwhile, Jas had already changed into pajamas and was sitting there with a book in his hands.
Previously, Jas used to read books in the study.
No one knows when he developed the bad habit of reading books in the bedroom bed.
Lying next to Jas, Jane tossed and turned several tis, repeatedly stealing glances at him, clearly hesitating to speak. It was too obvious—Jas, not being blind, knew she wanted to say sothing.
"Speak." Jas closed the book and put it on the bedhead cabinet, then spoke.
"I have two questions for you," Jane said as Jas placed the book down, then she laid her head on his thigh and looked up at him, "When I first got back, why weren’t you happy?"
