Grandpa Sampton, unable to contain his rage, bellowed at Julie Sampton, "Jane Sampson has never fought nor snatched anything away, yet you still want to ruin everything for her. Julie, do you have any conscience left?"

It was precisely because both elders knew all too well that the house had enjoyed its current good days at the expense of Jane’s grievances and sacrifices that they had always favored her, thinking to themselves, if only they could love her a little more, make up to her a little more.

But now, the actions of Julie had made it clear to the elderly couple that this family had been twisted at its very foundation.

They could stand to see Jane wronged for a while, but they could not bear the thought of their beloved granddaughter suffering for a lifeti.

Jane Sampson owed this ho nothing anymore.

"Julie, you will quit your job now, and in the next few days, we will help you arrange a blind date. Before the year is out, you shall be married. Keeping you as a daughter in the Sampson Family is bound to lead to chaos sooner or later," Granny Sampton shook her head with disappointnt. "I hope you’ll reflect on what you did wrong. I don’t expect you to repent, but I do expect you not to make the sa mistakes again, for they not only ruin others, but in the end, will ruin yourself too."

"Grandma, I don’t!" Julie, frightened, shook her head, "I don’t want to resign, I don’t want to marry!"

"You have no say in the matter!" Grandpa Sampton slamd his hand down on the tea table before turning to Mother Sampton, "Look at the fine daughter you have raised!"

"Dad, Mom," Mother Sampton’s tears were swirling in her eye sockets, "Julie was wrong this ti, but she has admitted her mistake. She quickly deleted her Twitter, Mom and Dad, please forgive her just this once."

"Shut your mouth!" Father Sampton turned and yelled at his wife, his anger flaring after his parents uncompromisingly exposed what he had thought well concealed—his own dealings nobody else knew about.

But this anger, he dared not direct at his parents, so it was vented on his wife instead.

Jane stood there, taking a long ti to co back to her senses, then curled up the corners of her mouth in a self-mocking smile after a while, "All along, I thought I had married into another ho, but now I realize, I was sold."

No wonder the last ti Jas Black ca with her to visit, he had already told her that she no longer owed the Sampson Family anything.

The words Jas had spoken to her last ti had been sugar-coated, probably to spare her feelings, so he had not ntioned these so-called transactions to her.

"Jane, Dad was compelled to act at that ti. The company had encountered a major problem, and Dad had to do it for the sake of our family. I hope you can understand your father. It has not been easy for for the sake of this family," Father Sampton, in the guise of a loving father, sighed deeply, "After you married into the Black Family, I have always been worried about you, fearing you would be disrespected there because of my actions. But in reality, I was not wrong about the Black Family; they have treated you well, haven’t they?"

Jane Sampson scoffed and lifted her gaze to Father Sampton, "Whether it’s true or not, you know best, don’t you?"

When she first married into the Black Family, Father Sampton had never once visited her at her new ho.

For months after the wedding, she had not returned ho, and apart from her grandparents and Bright Sampton, neither Father Sampton nor Mother Sampton had ever called to check on her.

"What kind of attitude is this?" Father Sampton’s face turned cold, "Regardless, the sentint of having raised you is there. Your mother and I brought you up, can it possibly be all fake?"

"Sentint of raising ? Wasn’t that repaid when you sold your daughter?" Jane’s tears rolled down one by one, "When you were negotiating with the Black Family, did you think of at all? Did you consider what kind of position I would have in my husband’s family?"
