At last, when Jane Sampson made the third call, the phone on the other end was finally picked up.
"I was in the restroom just now, so I picked up late. Is there an ergency?" Jas Black had heard the mobile phone ringing continuously outside the restroom; it would stop and then start again.
"Ah..." Jane Sampson opened her mouth but was at a loss for how to begin explaining the morning’s event.
Hearing Jane Sampson’s silly pause, Jas Black unconsciously curved the corners of his mouth, mimicking her whiny tone, he asked, "Miss ?"
Jane Sampson’s pretty smile faltered, she blinked, coughed, and said, "A little."
Three words, and at that mont, Jas Black’s laughter was unabashed.
"I’ll co back ho on the weekend," Jas Black said, "Wait for patiently at ho."
"Mmm." Jane Sampson responded and then mustered the courage to ask in a soft voice, "Did Sister Tin tell you about my audition this morning?"
Hearing Jane Sampson ask this, Jas Black realized the reason she had called him; it seed there was new news from the film crew.
"Jas Black, I didn’t intentionally keep it from you," Jane Sampson explained quickly, "I just thought, with you being so busy with the guard team, it might be better not to distract you with my little issues. I was afraid of troubling you, not intentionally keeping it from you, so you can’t be mad at ."
"Is this a small matter?" Jas Black scoffed, "When people are bullying you to your face, it’s a small matter?"
"It’s just a role, right? If it’s gone, it’s gone. Besides, Sister Tin said that Amber Edwards doesn’t have the capability to actually ban . Plus, when I first entered the industry, you also told that you wouldn’t help ," Jane Sampson’s voice grew softer, "I was afraid that if I told you, you would mock for being useless."
"Your Sister Tin is right about one thing. The hairpin was a gift from , and I was the reason it all started, so I should resolve this for you," Jas Black still possessed that mindset of not obstructing, but not helping either.
However, this didn’t an others could bully her.
"If your Sister Tin hadn’t told about this, how were you planning to resolve it? Just let yourself miss out on this role? After you’ve been working so hard these days, would that all be for nothing?" Jas Black couldn’t hold back and scolded Jane Sampson, "Are you foolish?"
Usually, for a scoop of ice cream, she would act coquettish, be wilful, and even sneakily be shrewd. Why couldn’t she use that cleverness for sothing serious?
With her skills at being coquettish, if she had been bullied and ca to him acting spoiled, Jas Black wouldn’t be able to stand it and would certainly help her.
Jas Black thought, just with Jane Sampson’s skills at fake crying, if she ca to him crying, she could ask for the sun in the sky, and he would probably find a way to pluck it down to comfort her.
"I’m not foolish, not foolish at all," Jane Sampson sniffed and retorted sharply, "You’re the foolish one!"
"Hah," Jas Black scoffed, then continued to instruct Jane Sampson, "In the future, just call directly if there’s a problem. What might be a big deal for you is likely just a simple matter for ."
Why would soone show off their superiority to such an extent that it left her speechless?
"I hate you!" Jane Sampson playfully scolded Jas Black, then laughed lightly and hung up the phone.
Thinking about the audition she had to attend in the afternoon, Jane Sampson put away her phone and went back to the bedroom to rest a bit, to refresh herself. Even if it was just a formality, she wanted to make those she outshined admit defeat wholeheartedly.
