"Here, Thomas Lancaster," Yvette Quick pointed at Thomas.
"Don’t be sad, brother will take you into society this evening," Alexander Forest patted Thomas’s shoulder with a sly smile on his face.
"Who would believe that?" Yvette shook her head. Jas Black, Thomas, and Alexander were the sa age, and even though they didn’t look greasy, strictly speaking, they could be considered middle-aged.
At their age, still pure-hearted?
Scamming fools, but even fools wouldn’t believe it.
"Off you go, you little lass, you’re too unlikable," Thomas said, pulling his hand back and pretending to push Yvette, who was next to him, away in a fit of embarrassed rage.
"By the way, little Jane, why didn’t you bring Bright Sampton?" Yvette asked. "I haven’t seen him in a long ti. Based on his age, he must be at university by now, right?"
"Yes, he was at university, but he took a break these days to play e-sports. He got everyone in the house so upset that they’re about to kick him out and cut ties with him." Jane Sampson smiled helplessly. "I talked to him halfway here; he said there’s a eting at the base during dinner, but if he could make it, he would co later when we go to the clubhouse to play."
"He hasn’t turned ugly, has he?" Thomas teasingly continued, "He used to be quite a handso little brother as a kid."
"He’s still handso." Jane Sampson wasn’t boasting, "With as his role model sister, of course, he looks good just like , from childhood to adulthood."
Yvette paused when she heard Jane say this, but then quickly recovered and masked her expression. She patted Jane’s shoulder and shook her head, "You’ve gotten even more vain than when you were a kid."
Even Thomas looked at Jane Sampson a bit more surprisingly than before.
Back when they were kids, Jane could easily boast about herself as a flower, shalessly making everyone burst out laughing.
But later on, Jane wasn’t like that anymore.
When she married Jas Black, she was quiet and barely spoke during their wedding feast. After attending Jane and Jas Black’s marriage feast, Thomas and Yvette flew back to university together, and Yvette even sighed, pitying that the mischievous little Jane Sampson could never co back.
"Now only Nina Rice and Peter Gingery haven’t arrived yet; let’s order the food." Thomas handed the nu to Jas Black, "Yvette and I have ordered what we wanted to eat. Take a look at the nu and see what you want to order for yourselves."
Since everyone was so familiar, no one bothered with formalities.
Jane Sampson took the nu, spread the notebook on the table, and nudged Jas Black, who was sitting next her. Her head was almost resting against his chest, her little hand pointing here and there on the nu, and occasionally looking up to discuss with Jas whether the dishes looked good.
His palm rested gently on her head no matter what she said, nodding along, letting her lead, until she had finished ordering and passed the nu to Peter Gingery. Only then did Jas withdraw his hand and calmly placed it back on the table.
Thomas and Yvette watched, stunned by the couple’s show of affection over such a small matter as ordering food, together oozing a sweetness that was almost suffocating.
"By the way, little Jane, why did you suddenly decide to beco an actor?" Yvette had been wanting to ask Jane Sampson this ever since she returned from abroad, and now that she saw Jane, she finally got the chance to ask.
