In the bathroom, there was a mont of silence filled only by the intertwined sound of their breathing.
When Jas Black released her, Jane Sampson could feel her lipstick was probably about to bleed.
"Let’s go, go change your clothes," Jas Black said cheerfully as he hugged the dazed young wife and left the bathroom.
As they left, Jane only had one thought—thank goodness she still had a mask to cover her lips reddened from Jas’s kisses; early in the morning, she had even saved on lipstick.
The pair had overslept early in the morning and had lingered in the bathroom before leaving. By the ti they arrived at the hospital, it was already 11:30. Fortunately, there were acquaintances at the hospital, and as soon as Jas arrived, he went straight in for his examination.
But by the ti the X-ray was in hand, it was already past twelve o’clock.
Jane Sampson sat with Jas Black in the doctor’s office. The assistant had brought the X-rays. The doctor looked them over, nodded, and said to Jas, "The recovery is going well. I’ll take off the bandage now, but when you go back, be careful not to bump or use this hand too strenuously. As for training, it’s best not to continue it for now. Wait another three or four days before you start slowly resuming your normal training."
Hearing the doctor say this, Jane, sitting next to him, truly breathed a sigh of relief.
She was afraid that Jas would act tough, secretly resuming his training during the days she wasn’t in the guard team.
Jane’s sigh of relief was so apparent that it even caught the doctor’s attention, who turned to look at her and then laughed.
"Look how worried your wife is," the doctor teased Jane and Jas.
Jas patted Jane on the head with his other hand and laughed, "Worrying over nothing."
Jane swatted away the hand that touched her like a Great General and glared at the owner of the hand, then moved her chair back to keep away from Jas’s dog-petting hand.
"I’ll prescribe two types of dicinal wine for you. Rub it on every day before sleep and when you get up in the morning to help with the recovery. Other than that, there’s nothing else," the doctor said as he put the X-rays back into the bag and handed them to Jas before taking him to another room to remove the bandages.
Jane, curious, followed them in and burst into laughter when she saw Jas’s left hand after the bandages were removed.
"It’s so white here," Jane gently touched Jas Black’s left hand. His skin was several shades lighter than his right hand, having not been exposed to the sun for over half a month.
After all, Jas wasn’t originally dark-skinned; he had just been sun-tanned over the years. Moreover, when Jane had first co back through rebirth, Jas had just finished outdoor training, so she rembered how dark his skin had been recently.
Now, seeing his left hand, she couldn’t help but comnt.
"It won’t be long before it tans back," the doctor added, "Your man is always out in the sun. This hand won’t stay white for long."
After saying that, the doctor turned to Jane and asked, "It’s rare to see him this pale. Do you want to take a photo to commorate this mont?"
"Great idea!" Jane’s eyes lit up. She looked up at Jas and, sure enough, seeing the doctor’s suggestion had caused a flash of annoyance in Jas’s eyes, as if he were about to scold soone.
But Jane wasn’t afraid.
Jas would lecture her, but he wouldn’t scold her.
If he dared to scold her, she would just cry to show him!
