"Mom, we don’t understand, but Jane Sampson must." Julie Sampton said, "Isn’t she filming these days? Have the house’s driver deliver als to her more often, and give her a call now and then to show you care about her. Dad says Jane Sampson is easily moved, so you start by warming up to her. Then, after about a week, call her again and ask for Thomas Lancaster’s phone number. Once I get Thomas Lancaster’s number, we can decide whether or not you should continue to be nice to her."
Julie Sampton thought for a mont and added, "If Jane Sampson doesn’t give you Thomas Lancaster’s phone number then, just go and cry in front of her, make a scene. She might refuse you when she hasn’t seen you, but if she sees you crying, she’ll definitely not refuse you anymore."
Mother Sampton hesitated for a long ti, feeling in her heart that this was sowhat wrong, as if she were using Jane Sampson.
But she couldn’t stand up to her daughter Julie’s crying and fussing and finally nodded, "If you really like that Thomas Lancaster, then I’ll try tomorrow."
"Thank you, Mom. I knew you loved the most. Once I marry Thomas Lancaster, I’ll definitely take good care of you." Julie Sampton stood up happily, hugged Mother Sampton, and then said, "Mom, let’s go shopping then. I’ve been eyeing a lot of stuff I like but didn’t have the heart to buy. I’m not as rich as Jane Sampson, even a lipstick costs her more than 300,000."
"Whatever you want, I’ll buy it for you. Don’t just talk about 300,000, even one million, I’ll buy it for you," Mother Sampton said, delighted by the flattery, hugging Julie and calling her precious daughter, treasure. Then she took Julie’s hand, called for the driver, and they left in the car.
The next morning, when Jane Sampson got to the film crew, Amber Edwards had not arrived yet. When she finished her makeup and ca out, Amber was already sitting on a chair, fanning herself. She complained about the air quality in the makeup room, so the makeup artist took out the toolbox and did her makeup outdoors.
Her two assistants were busy distributing sothing or other over there.
Coco Edwards whispered to Jane Sampson, "They couldn’t possibly be handing out that Dream River’s Sumr perfu you posted on twitter yesterday, could they?"
"How could that be?" Jane shook her head. "The perfu is priced in the five-digit range. The Edwards family is rich, but not to the extent that they would indulge her like that. Besides, even if you have the money, that perfu isn’t sothing you can just buy in a day. Even if she went internationally to purchase it imdiately after leaving yesterday afternoon, she couldn’t have returned by this ti."
And, even if soone bought it internationally and flew back with it, they wouldn’t be able to bring back this much. Dream River’s Sumr is a luxury among perfus, not just dew spray that’s available whenever; who can lug it back by the boxload?
After Jane finished speaking, Coco made a sound of realization, "I saw it, those boxes are full of tangerines; she is really splurging, giving everyone one box of southern citrus."
Hearing Coco ntion tangerines, Jane involuntarily swallowed her saliva.
"It’s over, I want to eat," Jane looked up at the sky.
"Your throat hasn’t recovered yet, better stick to chrysanthemum tea," Coco, amused by Jane’s look of despair, said, "Besides, even if I went out to buy you so tangerines right now, if you ate them, it would an admitting defeat."
"Forget it, to defend my dignity, I better not eat," Jane flicked her head, "make so chrysanthemum tea, and I’ll drink it after I wrap up the scene."
