Why haven’t the police co yet?
Why hasn’t Jas Black co yet?
She didn’t know how long she could hold off this murderer.
She was really scared too.
Only, she had to pretend not to be afraid, act as though she was brimming with confidence.
But what was the reality?
In reality, Jane Sampson dared not fire her gun!
Her marksmanship was terrible; once she fired and if that man over there saw she couldn’t hit her target, he could counter-attack at any ti. Then, indeed, she would have nowhere to turn, no ground for comfort.
"Admirable courage." Henry Bright genuinely had newfound respect for the beautiful woman in front of him. "You’re not an actor, you’re a policewoman? Quite a beautiful female police officer."
Henry Bright chuckled, while talking, he twirled the dagger in his hand. However, his patience was wearing thin.
He knew the mountain was swarming with police and guards, so he didn’t have much ti to waste here.
Thinking this, Henry Bright clenched his teeth and thought to himself that he had to take the risk. If he won, both he and his younger brother could survive.
If he lost, then it was just his life at stake. After all, without taking the risk, he was going to die anyway!
The honest fear the aggressive, the aggressive fear the reckless.
And at this mont, Henry Bright was the reckless one.
Jane Sampson saw Henry Bright lunge unexpectedly, frightening her into firing her gun imdiately.
A bang was heard.
Henry Bright fell to the ground with a gunshot wound on his head, blood spurting out.
Jane Sampson imdiately collapsed on the ground, her tears finally uncontrollable as she looked at the corpse of the murderer before her, her limbs going weak.
"Wuu~ This must be the most accurate I’ve ever been in my life." Jane Sampson sobbed as she consoled herself.
A few seconds later, a pair of long legs appeared before Jane Sampson, and a palm patted and rubbed her head.
With the familiar movents and touch, Jane Sampson knew who it was without even looking up.
Jane Sampson imdiately hugged those legs and burst into loud tears.
"You scared to death! I was really scared to death just now! Why did you only just co!" Jane Sampson cried breathlessly, her tears wiping directly onto Jas Black’s trousers leg.
Over there, Jas Chip and the others finally breathed a sigh of relief and hurried over. They quickly pulled Jane Sampson up, coaxing her, "Miss. Sampson, it’s all right, the murderer is dead. First, let go of this team mber’s leg, don’t hold onto him like that."
Clinging to soone’s legs and wailing was really quite unseemly.
"It’s fine, let her be," Jas Black said hoarsely, then bent down, supported Jane Sampson’s chin, and kissed her forehead. "There, there, no more crying, it’s all over."
"Ah!" Jas Chip’s eyes widened. Is this how guards console citizens nowadays?
A hug and a kiss? Then using such a tender voice to say there, there, no more crying, it’s all over.
Jane Sampson sobbed intermittently but still raised her hand to wipe the tears from the corner of her eyes and then, holding onto Jas Black’s shoulders, she slowly stood up.
Once she was steady, she threw herself into Jas Black’s arms, choking up, "I almost lost my life."
"I know," Jas Black nodded, feeling very remorseful inside.
He knew she had been in great danger and that she must have been terrified.
"But you did very well." As Jas Black passed by Henry Bright’s corpse, he saw the wounds on his palms and the blood-stained hairpin on the ground. Although he hadn’t witnessed it, he knew what had happened.
